I looked around but I couldnt find this suggestion.  

When talking about the stock market or recommending specific stocks, most people use the abbreviation of the stocks name and many are similar TGP, TCI, TCT, etc. Although I do have a lot of them memorized, many I dont and I'm sure others newer to the game dont. When I'm trying to find one referenced I sort by name, but then have to scan the description to figure out which one it is if all I have to go by is the abbreviation. Can we not just add the stock abbreviation to the name or overlayed on the picture right on the stock page somehow? If we're talking about realism, most all brokerages list everything primarily by the abbreviation. 

I'm sure many people might think "I dont need that." But i think it would be a huge help for newer players and people like myself who have only have a few memorized. 

So Ive decided to try and max out search for cash and I aquired the lost and found key yesterday. When I go back into search for cash it isnt showing up next to the subway. I checked it under my Items and there doesnt seem to be any way to enable it. Is this a bug or is there something I need to do with it?

Thanks for the heads up. I was certain I read it in the wiki and when I just double checked I realized it said you get the most experience for leaving and I just confused it with respect. 

Last year some random guy hospitalized me instead of leaving me so I just asked if I did something I didnt know about. He then said I was "crying" and continued to hospitalize me repeatedly. I think those were the only hospitalizations I got during halloween other than some from a faction that I put a paid bounty for BHG on one of their members like 6 months beforehand but i expected that. So I guess my answer is, most everyone will "leave" you and if someone does hospitalize you, you roll the dice if you simply ask them why or if they could not.  

I'm sure you know, but the reason why most people leave instead of hospitalize is because you get more respect for your faction, so it does feel kinda personal if they hospitalize you, but it may be best not to ask. 

Is that true? You mean Ive been leaving on the surgical gloves and glasses on for nothing? I guess it adds to the creep factor. 

E drinks usually go down after halloween IIRC so I would recommend reading it just before Caffeinecon and get just enough to get me through Halloweek. That would hopefully save you a little bit. 

We need lean. We have cough syrup and we just need a way to mix it with lemon lime soda and Styrofoam cups to produce it.

Occasionally theres certain special higher value items that are added to the "search for" crimes. IIRC there was some stuff added to the cemetary for halloween last year. I feel like there was another one recently but I cant recall what it was offhand. 

I cant recall why I quit and I think I had an 18 to 24 month hiatus. 

I came back when I was hanging out with a friend and he had timers going off. He was like "Sorry, just playing this game and I have to remember to do stuff." And I was like "Hold on a minute... That sounds familiar." And i looked to see my account was still sitting there so I logged in and havent stopped again. 

I see a lot of gift card buying in your future. 

I think a heads up that theyre selling should be customary. It's the least a director can do as there will almost always be changes of some sort with a new director. 

Somebody mentioned companies ans I didnt even think abiut that as a money sink. 

Because of advertising costs I would bet 90% of company types dont make any money unless theyre selling trains or charging a tax. Even the ones doing that, it probably cancels out for the most part as the money getting being "made" is being balanced by burning a good deal on advertising. I'd love to see the actual ROI on companies once taxes and/or trains are accounted for. Some of them Im sure just break or make a tiny amount because people just want the perks even if the perks dont "make" money at all and just allow the players to mug morez or get better training gains, etc....  

Ive often wondered why they dont seem to have any interest in balancing the companies because "advertising" really skews it, but maybe its because thats a big control on inflation. 

Just from my subjective view I would say yes, theres some manner of inflation over time and its probably not as bad as it could be. I'm actually curious now to look at a mix of items charts long term, but I'm flying right now. My guess is some items do have huge drops in price, the cumulative long term trend will always likely be somewhat upward.  

You mentioned a few money sinks but theres some like players hoarding items or money long term and potentially going inactive is one I wonder how much impact it has. They also do things like adjusting the prices of items and the sellback price that have huge effects on the economy, the biggest being points.  

They have a developer who's sole focus is listed as economy so I imagjne its somethjng they are constantly monitoring and doing misc things to keep inflation and deflation under control to some extent. one of the most interesting things for me about Torn is the player driven economy and people agreeing to prices well outside the buyback price on some things and not others. It was also interesting seeing the recent post about player collections and it was interesting to see how many items there are that one person could apparently tank the price on if they wanted to.  

Im not sure if theres anything out there other than the occasional news articles that looks at Torns wider economy fluctuations, but Id like to see it if there is. 

TLdr: they didnt think they would send or receive so many butthole pictures playing this game. 

The only buff Ive seen is you now get a free toaster when you open a bank account with 2 billion. If youre really lucky you might get a travel mug and a stress ball.

I just made this suggestion, but someone pointed me to this thread. Looks like its been 5 years since this thread has gotten any love, but I think its a no brainer and shouldnt need 250 up votes to consider. Maybe its a lot harder than I think, but this is just basic functionality and not like were requesting a new crime or anything. 

Thanks for the heads up. I did a quick forum search, but I confess I didn't spend much time as the forum search just infuriates me. 

I just realized there were responses to this the other day and then forgot to respond until now lol. Thanks for your response. Is this on Torn Tools website or is there a plugin? Ive actually used their website for a quicker reference, but thats a bit unwieldy between using a window for that and PDA. Now that I think about it I guess i could open up the window in PDA rather than my browser. I kinda forget I can do weboages outside Torn in PDA.  

At the end of the day I think it would be a relative easy fix for them though and makes a lot more sense than the way the layout is now. Sooner or later Ill probably have them all memorized, but I thought this would be great for newer players or people just dipping into stocks.
