small idea i came up with(inspired by bomber crew), basically a crew of ten will manage a b-17 and go on different missions (assigned by me or the crew's choice) the missions grant money and extra assignments grant a bonus that varies depending on importance and danger, the money can be used to upgrade the plane (engines, armor, guns, fuel tanks, systems) if a crew member dies then a new person comes into take their spot.

Yuri grinned he knew the person had approached his location; he was relieved it was Greg who approached as he wasn't looking to start a firefight after those birds passed. Yuri, stood up from the counter, the glass wouldn't provide much cover but i was better than nothing, he holstered his ak-12 "guess my reputation precedes me." The screams felt never ending, the sounds bounced off the walls over and over, connor looked up only to be immidiatly shocked, one of those things was trying to break into his cell, the metal was bending under the pressure, connor back up againts the wall, he had no way of fighting this and he knew that.
as the creature made it halfway through the cell gate the ship suddenly rocked violently, a slight lean followed after as if the station was knocked off course, connor hit his head on the back wall wich knocked himout immidiatly, only to wake up hours later in almost dead silence...no more screams, no more nothing..the only sounds that filled the station were those of the metal bending and creaking all around and the subtle groan, moan and clicker of thebeingd responsible for this.
Connor held the back of his head as he stood back up, the creature that tried breaking in was dead, impaled through the stomach during the violent rocking, the cell gate held loose, all it took was connor a few kicks to knock it off the wall.
He glanced around the prison sparks flew around, and blood tainted the platforms only complemented by the mangled bodies,both prisoners and guards alike suffered a similar fate.
His best chance of survival now was on finding a way out of here, any way.

Connor opens his eyes as the chamber hisses and slowly opens, he attempted to use his visor but was met with nothing, his enhancements had been disabled before being frozen, once the pod fully opened a warden grabbed him by the shoulder and dragged him out shoving him into the line, a few prisoners prosted in annoyance but were quickly shut down with stunt batons and dragged to their cells.
After walking in a line for some time connor was shoved into a cell, the door closing violently after magnetic locks holding it shut, he paced for a few hours before the whole station blacked out, he knew immediately something was wrong, likely damage to the power and electrical grid however what ensued after made his blood run cold, the screams, all around him, they echoed on the walls, some sounded human and terrified other were distorted, almost like a creature drowning in its blood while screaming at the same time, it was only when the red emergency lights came on that he saw it, a shadow ripping a prisoners arm off with frightening ease before beatimg him with it, its jaw unhinged beofre it mowed down on the guy,
something had snuck into this station and made it its breeding grounds.
year is 2154, humanity has taken to the stars in search of a new home planet, with earth overpopulated and polluted, this stellar crusade would lead humanity to create multiple stations and outpost along the milky way under the new alliance EUA, proposed in the year 2056 by the European union, the rest of the world joined with the u.s.a , russia and china being its top contributors, by 2100 humanity had developed a new kind of energy using minerals found deep within planets core, they called it CM-14 (Core material) this opened the gate for warp gates and hover systems for craft among many other advancements.
our story however follows a group of criminals, whether wrongly incarcerated or not, all from different backgrounds and planets, are currently in a prison transport ship headed for the moon Europa, in these future social classes determine one's fate with lower classes usually having to resort to crime to keep up with the unforgiving and often corrupt rules of this alliance.
the warp left the craft only a few years away from the prison exchange station, a temporary prison meant to hold large amounts of prisoners while processing them, as the ship docked the whole everything ran to protocol, as the prisoners were transported out of the craft they noticed a large line of containers all labeled with a hazard symbol, surrounding them there is a few scientist some looking pale and other having small sacks around their face, they are swaying side to side.
once incarcerated only a few hours pass before a black out followed by the screams of prisoners and guards alike fill the entire station, the sounds of metal breaking and bones being snapped with outmost brutality, the station suddenly rattles violently as alarms begging to blare, a deep red hue flashing every so often, this nocks out our group for a few hours at best.

Took a little while, but eventually one of the servers spotted him walking over and setting the drink by him, void gave a quick thanks as he took a sip, this was good, after the events everyone had to endure, we needed this, time to gather ourselves, to get a breath of fresh air, the music was foreign to him, it always was, never got a grasp of why many enjoy it or why it even exist.
after spending some time with the party in his comfortable silence, void stood and walked to the counter paying for his drink, he walked back to the table, walking up to bard, do taking a few seconds before interrupting bard out of his thoughts "I'll be passing by a few shops for some new gear" void didn't go too much into detail, he felt that was enough info
exiting the inn he headed for the commerce district why a few shops here and there, he mainly needed some new clothes to replace his torn ones and a new chest piece, heck maybe even a shield if he found one worth the coin.
he roamed taking a look at some shops until eventually reaching a blacksmith shop, he showed how much he had to pay, the smith gave him a side look and pointed at a corner with cheap equipment and used gear, took a few looks and tried a few pieces until eventually getting his eyes on a chest piece, plating at the front and back with leather on the sides for flexibility and some shoulder pieces, he tried it on and it fit well, maybe a bit tight around the sides but it should do, using the last bits of his coin void left the smiths shop, he definitely needs to find a way to make some coin.
Void walked inside the inn some dirt covering his clothes and face that did get him some unwanted attention from a few customers at the inn, not giving it much of a thought void asked on of the inn keepers what room his party had rented and asking if some raw meat could be left where his bear recided.
With that out of the way void headed upstairs to get washed, closing behind him void undressed and set his gear to the side before taking in the lonely bath, dirt immidiatly tainted the water although this didnt annoy void, compared to the water back in the pits this might aswell be fully purified drinkable water, scrubbing away void didnt plan on remaining in the water for to long, relaxation meant he would drop his guard something he felt would be fatal.
Once void was done with his body he turned towards his makeshift brace for his fingers, unwrapping them and cleaning them with care so as to not increase the already sharp pain coming from them, once done void wrapped them up again before leaving the bath, drying off and putting his gear and clothes back on.
"Definitely need to invest in newer stuff.." he thought taking a glance at the multiple slashes on his clothes not to mention his broken armor, with that in mind and checking what coins he had left, he decided on going shopping later.
Void stepped back down to the main floor locating his group who was already enjoying the food and drinks of the inn, feeling hungry he made way towards the table sitting down at an open spot, giving a quick nod as he sat down while already raising an arm to ask for some ale.
void found himself striking a tree over and over, this with the purpose of controlling his magic and how it travels and accumulates around his body, gather too little on his hand and he gets injured after punching, gather to much and the tree gets damaged along with his hand, the point was to find a balance he can use and build of that and so he did striking with his hands, his legs, trying every part of his body to see the effect while the spirit coached and watched from a far.
once the trees proved to be losing effective ness, the spirit changed them to boulders, this time with the purpose of training void to gather energy that will protect his fist from breaking after punching instead of training to damage the boulder. some time passed. maybe hours and although very, very basic void understood the concept that the spirit was teaching him... with that the spirit nodded at void before transporting him back to reality, turns out all that was in his head. he never ran risk of injury, yet it felt as such, this intrigued him, but it was a question for another time.
void turned to leave back to the inn but before doing so he tested what he learned by standing Infront of a tree and gathering magic around his fist. once it felt like enough, he struck cracking the outer shell of the tree along with two of his fingers, wincing and pulling his hand away he truly realized how little did he understand of what was taught, looking at his hand his fingers purple... they reminded him of his disappointments, the tree it reminded of his achievements, with that void steeled himself and headed back to the inn, wrapping his fingers with some cloth and two sticks.
void guided eve over to the stables having fed her before arriving he decided to venture into the forest again, this time with a clearer mind, and a healthier body he found a small clearing, rock siting in the middle, void climbed it and sat simply enjoying the quiet he looked around and it felt like everything finare did in the span of minutes never happened, it was a nice though, unrealistic.. but nice, void took a deep breath before standing up and turning to leave.
"Leaving so soon?" void knew this voice. the apparition "you have grown a from the last time i saw you, you kneed a body uncapable of magic into one who wields it, at a somewhat basic level how ever there is much for you to learn yet not everything i can teach... so tell me, what is it you wish to learn?"
void pondered for a moment; previous fights showed him he had to rely on his spear in order to deal the most damage. but what if he couldn't use his spear he would have to improvise then... "i need to learn how to conduct this power into other objects, anything i can get my hands on turned into a weapon if the situation calls for it"
the apparition nodded "very well" with that void was transported into a parallel world, in his head, where he could train without having to worry about damage to the area or others, "so you want to learn how to conduct this energy. well first you must conduct it into your fist, your last weapons, you already have some control of the energy, however its not refined enough to hold a stable amount" spoke the spirit as it paced around void, "this training will broaden your control of this magic and teach you the basics of conducting and controlling it.
void nodded once the spirit finished speaking, he was ready... he had to be.
void sat in silence, he had been ever since they left what used to be the hidden's headquarters, he knew he had to get stronger but he didn't know how to do it quickly, finare attacked out of the blue and he could do it again... it was stressful to even think of it, he decided in getting some sleep yet a ping on the back of his head jolted his ideas elsewhere, he looked behind him.. nothing... yet it felt somewhat familiar void grabbed his spear and followed leaving eve and the boy confused, moving deep into the forest void felt a presence nearing closer all around him its like a shadow was toying with him.
turning around he came face to face with that apparition again... the one that was there when he gained his magic. "You have improved a lot lucius, its certainly impressive, the ones before you certainly got the hang of things faster but i guess that's what makes you different... you took time in understanding and learning" void seemed confuse others before me.
"you didn't know? your family long time ago had pledged loyalty to an ancient being that granted one of them great power, for eons your family had control over regions many would have killed to have nowadays...your father was supposed to be the next to be granted this power... im afraid he was slain leaving you as the next in line, without your father and you not being of age.. your family was left without protection... your enemies took chance and plundered everything, killed everyone... but you.. they knew about your "deal" as they called it they wanted it for themselves... but the being was long gone... so they did the next best thing... killed the soon to be successor and take the next in line for them, all that fighting in the pits.. its how they molded you into a warrior.
void was left speechless...all that happened, and it all was planned by some group he didn't even know about. the death, his suffering, his grieve it all was thanks to them, void clenched his fist energy pulsating through his veins "so you found your trigger, interesting.. most took years before they had found a proper trigger for their abilities and yet here you are already having one.
void sat down.. this was going to take a long while
void rolled around, he had been wrapped up and put to rest, they had done the same to eve who was sound asleep... unlike him who couldn't get an ounce of sleep, not whit all this still fresh in his head, void tried finding a position anything to get some rest... in the end it was futile, he grunted frustrated standing up and grabbing his spear, heading out the tent, the few medics they had tried stopping him but he wasn't having it, right now he needed some time alone, shoving past them void made his way into the forest, the pain sharp all over his body, and his arm still pretty much numb, void came to a stop once he reached a spot open enough he kneeled down looking at his spear... all he felt was frustration and anger, he felt hopeless and that angered him much more.
"Why, WHY!... no matter how much i train, how many times I break my body and my mind every dam time it's like I'm back to the beginning weak and injured" void wielded the spear with his only good hand striking the tree's around him, "you couldn't protect her" it all rushes back to him, the spear begins glowing with intensity, it hurts every strike rattles him, "you couldn't help a single person escape!" strike "countless died and you could barely stand up against the threat... not then... not now..." void stabs the spear in to a tree... before falling to his knees... he let stayed there's breathing heavily, before standing up his hand burned, one good look and it was clearly he had peeled some skin off.. he frowned before getting his spear and starting his walk back to the what's left of the village,
void limps his way eve supporting him, he knew the fight was over... it had to be after what just happened, there's no way there was more of those things, as he turns the corner his suspicions were confirmed. the battle was over... but at what cost? "bard.. you fool.. what did you do?"
void finally relaxed, his mana vanishing, the bleeding started to get worse he could barely move his shoulder....and his hand was completely numb... or... dead, his chest burned...his clothes soaked in blood and his vision shaky and blurry... this was the outcome of a show of force by finare.. and they lost no matter how you look at it.. the fate's gone very likely death, countless death and injured.. and they barely could stop any of it.. it costed them more than they would ever imagine... and this is how they are supposed to kill finare? bloodied coughs left his mouth bringing him to his knees void grabbed his side confirming his now broken ribs, he dropped the spear Infront of him... how could he talk of hope when he himself lost it the moment things went south?
eve placed her body on the floor next to him, nudging him with her head telling him to stay awake even if indirectly... not even his hand could he move to put on her head, the boy sat down... his face streaked with tears... "its just like my homeland... all the death... the smell of blood, f**k why cant it go away.." he said clearing his tears as more took their place.
this was no victory....at least it didn't feel like one
Void thanks the cat, however she was already on her way before he could finish, turning his gaze towrad bard and gronan void studiednhow they fought this thing, work the legs then the body, void sighted realizing he could have saved up on the beating, grabbing his spearnwith bothbhands he stood infront oh a harvester aproaching from his rear, void lifted the spear using the pole to block an overhead swing from, void twisted the spear along with his body, sending the sharp tendrill on way while he prepare to slice its leg in on motion and so he did, he spunhis body, spear at the front cleavong one of its legs, he flinchedas it was still pretty dma painfull but there was no time to worry about that, void stepped up weaving a stab as he thrusted the spear through its neck blood slushing out almost likena fountain.
He spun again throwing thespear at another creatures chest pushing it back, void grabbed both hatchets and threw them at its shoulders pulling down hard as they connectes with the creature that falls face firts tonthe ground and rpaidly tries to get up, void dislodges one of the hatchets and begins to swing on the fallen creaturs neck blood spewing out as he lands each swing.
He does another turn only to be swiped again, he barrles down the street, he blocked this one but his arms still felt it, void prepared to swing stepping forward ina charge he ended spinnign tonhis left cleaving the leg off, the cratuee wasted no time and attempted to stab him, in his injured form void couldnt react fast enought only being able to cacht the stab that was slowy making its way to his chest, he fell to one knee then both, then his back it was close to his chest ready to end him....
Then it wasnt?
His answer came to be eve tackling the creatur off, finishsing it on the spot, void let out a relieved sight standing up some struggle still present, the boy offered to let him sit on eve since he was injured but void refused, speed was his best ally in this situation.
The 3 moved on looking fornthe rest of this creatures along with helping any one who needs it.
void lifted his gaze, his body felt heavy... was he tired already...? he gritted his teeth there's no chance he would die like this , he forced his knee to move, he forced every muscle in I'm looking for anything... something to bring him back into the fight, "come on" he shouted in his head over and over, his boy began to get surrounded by the same orange glow that, it was growing with intensity... he slowly rose, a fight to stand upright, one he was close to losing, he heard bards words, this calmed as it meant his comrades where faring better than him.
eve and the boy rushed around, the boy aimed for the legs while ever toppled the creatures to the ground before delivering a killing blow, dismounting eve he lifted some rubble off an old lady pointing away from the village, eve received a slash from the creatures,, she snapped from the pain , gutting the creature with her paw, they both went around doing what they could to deal with the situation.
a goblin broke into the house lunging at void, he used his forearm to block the blade which stopped at the bone, clenching his jaw void grabbed it from the neck and slammed it to the ground caving its head in with his fist, a second one slashed his back, he kicked its face breaking its jaw, the more he got injured the angrier he got causing the orange to grow in intensity, grabbing his hatchet void threw it cleaving the goblin's head open "COME on void" he kept telling himself.
his eyes dart around as more and more emerge from the smoke, his mind still racing from what he just witnessed... he hated how right the feeling of seeing Fināre was, as he saw them approach... killing civilians, he gripped his spear, which glowed with intensity, he told the boy to mount eve and prepare for combat, eve let out a bellowing roar as if attempting to intimidate the creatures, in truth she was as scared as void, but she knew better, she trusted void and that was enough, if he ran she ran, if he fought, she fights, as a human she was helpless, now she can make up all the times void got hurt keeping her safe.
void rushed towards the cat standing Infront of her spear out eve went a different way with the boy, "stand now cat... now it's not the time to lose hope, if we don't act now, while the fear is strong, we have no hope in defeating him, he who caused this, Fināre" void deflected an incoming stab being pushed back a little "grip your sword and fight! this people depend on us... snap out of it cat!" void deflected a stab but was unable to avoid a slash that cut deep into his shoulder, his armor cracking with ease., void threw the spear, hitting it on the shoulder it swiped at void sending him crashing into a houses wall breaking it down... a deep gash on his shoulder and chest. he could barely move his shoulder... what are these things.... his heart beats with fear... he doesn't feel capable of killing even one and yet there's so many, he forced himself to stand but his chest hurt... a cracked rib? maybe two, some blood dripped down his mouth... "f*ck...."
Void stared at the fate utter disbelief and fear expressed all over his face, this was the first time he ever heard of something like this, he knew there was certain things he needed to learn now that he was free, but he didn't really think it would involve this sort of feeling... fear of the unknow, his mind rushed with questions, he felt powerless Infront of it.. if that's what just seeing one felt like... facing finare was bound to be more than what he could ever imagine.
the gladiators balance waivered only being supported by eve who used her head to hold him up, he felt the need to get his spear... almost as if that would keep him safe.. but he knew better... whatever this was wasn't here to hurt them, but it was seeking protecting, void came to reason with this and relaxed his hand.. he still felt fear all over but it wasn't as bad
Void accepted the cheese and asked the elf more about this mercenary group "they way you worded that makes it seem as if they cause trouble or bring it with them, if so tell me more about them" void was thinking , up tll now the boy had only practiced with him and the last major fight was againts the wyvern, maybe some experience with smaller foes alought do some good, it would, that would be dealt with later however as the meeting with the hidden came firts.
Void couldnt help but smirk once Gronan pointed out bard and shira moving things along, it was a nice moment, this reminded void of someone special... void stood from the table and went to order some meat for eve, his mood a little down but when was it not.
