The irony is incredible. Staff tries so hard to cultivate a supportive image, but does nothing when literal slurs are being uttered. Unless if they don't actually support pride, the only logical conclusion is that they deem slurs against LGBTQ people to be acceptable as "allies". Oh, and the fact that they've completely ignored this is just the cherry on top.

There are improvements but there are also drawbacks, and these drawbacks outweigh the improvements for me. 

If things could all stay the same forever then we'd just get used to the downsides 

I'm still on 2.0 right now. Problem is when everyone's forced to use 3.0, I'll still have to suffer. UX design is currently on a trajectory where they're trading compactness for "clarity", which is appealing to new users but hindering to users who have been using the product for a long time, which would be most of Torn's current active population.

Example:

Imagine you have a list of hyperlinked text. Now if each line was replaced with a button, they'd all take a lot more vertical space. Hence, you're gonna have to make more interactions to access the same data that you could've just moved your mouse and clicked on in the past. New users would find it easier to see, but as an experienced user you'd already know where everything is and hence the new UI would be more detrimental than beneficial. Over a period of usage, new users would've been able to get used to the old UI to use it more efficiently, but now neither of you could reach that efficiency ceiling.

The buttons are a lot bigger and the animation make it really inconvenient for me to switch between tabs (at least on mobile).

But all it does is make it slower

The font size is farther spaced out meaning that I now have to scroll to read the same information, and the animations literally do ZERO help and I can't turn them off. What is the benefit of this thing, I can't think of any. This was like chat 2.0 at launch ffs 

Edit: By animations I mean how when you open and close windows, it has a zooming animation that really messes with me. Also, the buttons are so much bigger and you can't lower their size.

Imho if you don't wanna get harassed, just don't participate. I've seen some genuinely creative submissions that the community has shown a lot of respect for, so why should we be surprised when people who CHOOSE to post boobies for Mr/Ms Torn end up serving the consequences of their actions? To me it sounds like the market correcting itself.
