Looking to get back into competitive Torn after a little break to deal with family stuff!
Used to run a fairly successful Gold faction with plenty of war and chaining experience. - 2374 total war hits with 25 wins
Active several times a day, try to keep on top of race joins when I can. Haven't missed a day since I started. Sociable and active in chats, willing to teach what I know and learn from those who want to foster me.
Level 100 in all crimes except arson, 35 Racing Skill, 70 NNB
Stats can be discussed with recruiters that interest me. Training 3 xans a day on average.
I prefer a HoF faction with decent perks, must have maxed Tolerance at a minimum. Would like to fight wars again and participate in some good chains both on and off war.
Testing the waters mostly, current faction is great to me but I'd like to get back out there and start climbing the competitive ladder so to speak!
Looking for a spouse for a rent split & help with upkeep on a private island. I can likely cover first months rent and just need someone to help with upkeep or we can pool and get something with a longer rental period! Prefer someone who's active daily and potentially stick it out long term, at least till we can both afford our own islands.

Damn I was only there for two months before everything went down but this thread sheds a ton of light on why that faction was having the issues it did.
I never experienced the Xanax tax but I was hassled over ~0.62 average respect over a 25k chain and that soured my experience enough I was considering leaving. 48 hours to pull everything out too is pretty crazy especially over Christmas holidays, afaik everyone got their money out of the vault but it's hard to say if everyone got their armoury stuff as well.
It's not really any players job to police the bookie and report odds that seem wrong, that's what staff are for. So by that metric I wouldn't say just betting and profiting off a screw up like that is overly wrong especially since staff can just admit a screw up and undo any payouts / bets.
If LD did conspire with someone to make multis to further profit from that screw-up I do agree there was additional malicious intent to profit off it and should result in disciplinary action. Problem is we don't have the full picture and can only trust that staff verifiably know that multis were involved and linked to LD.
As for Prox catching strays I don't really think it's right. Going back to what I said first it's not inherently wrong to bet on odds you think aren't correct, that's often the sole reason people bet on underdogs.
So LD just saying that he made a bunch off what he thought was backwards odds and verifying with staff that it was cleared shouldn't even warrant a report on Prox's part. The core issue comes from the extended attempt at exploiting a possible error using multis which was never mentioned in the conversation.
Something needs to be done but I really don't have an answer for what.
We're going into our second war in a row where about 1/3 of the opposing faction is basically unhittable by our guys making terming the only sensible option. We could try and fight but where's the fun in just dragging things out for a loss we know is coming and potentially miss matchmaking for the next week where we might get lucky with a better pairing.
It really puts a damper on building a faction because we are newer and can't offer the high steadfast bonuses or toleration buffs older ones can couple that with 3 out of the last 4 wars being almost impossible odds offering a good payout percentage really isn't that big of a draw. Anyone who's reasonably active would just be better off in a larger faction that can offer better perks even if they aren't routinely winning their wars.
Just my take from what's been happening in Silver land as of late. I'm hopeful things will get better even if that light at the end of the tunnel isn't visible yet.
I think I started out assuming this would be a casual game and it stayed that way for many months. Once I got my first big war payout things started to change.
Now I've been working my way up the ladder of the faction and have been putting in a lot of work since being promoted up into the leadership circle trying to influence things as best I can to see everyone succeed. It started off with putting in a few hours writing up faction mails to try and make sure everyone is on the same page for training and wars.
Now I've reached co-lead and it's only continued to draw me in both in helping out all the new recruits as best I can to wanting to grow my own strength so I'm not a leader only by name.
At this point I feel like Torn is so much more a social game than anything else you do in it. I'm sure that's a different experience than some, but I've met some really cool people and developed some good friendships along the way both in the faction and through other factions we've fought in wars or had other interactions with.
I really don't know if I can consider myself a 'serious' player having less than a years experience in this world, probably somewhere in between. At least till I experience things some more.
Who on earth would ever list things anonymously for 10% off the top when a majority of players who haven't spent merits into mug amount or run plunder RW weapons won't even take 10% from the buy mug?
As someone who used my bazaar to offload my plushie and flower stock at a convenient time to myself at competitive market prices without a fee this more or less makes my bazaar useless. I don't want to have to advertise my bazaar to sell stuff off quickly, and paying a market listing fee is silly when I can just be patient till a private trader is able to buy things at market value without any loss. The only point in having a bazaar now is if you want to put the work into becoming a full time trader which without having battle stats to stave off most mugs is just a liability.
I'd like a refund only because it's now essentially dead content for me, at least I can buy some nice backgrounds with that or roll it into some more energy refreshes for training.
He really had me on the first page tbh. I can understand how you could get upset at something like this especially being less than a day old and not really knowing how things work yet but the 8 other pages of digging that hole so much deeper is insane. And all over less than the price of an edvd.
Might really be time to remake the account and hope to god nobody connects the two :|
