I’m writing this after a series of interactions with a high-level veteran and his crew. It started with the typical pre-war banter; he claimed they were "huge" and we were "little," promising us a total battering. Standard stuff, or so I thought.
During the war, we did what we do best, we fought hard, we love to WAR. We managed to take down their 10bn stat lead and successfully flight-delayed him twice, trapping him abroad while we racked up points. He didn't take the strategy well. After a brief exchange where he threatened that we would be targeted for every future chain bonus, he blocked me to ensure he got the last word.
It’s war. Anything goes!If you can’t handle the mechanics of the game, perhaps you shouldn't be trying to lead others!
Despite his ego, we absolutely smashed them. We held a lead of 2,400 to their 400; their strategy never adapted, and they couldn't touch us.
The Breach of Terms
With three hours left before reenlistment, We held a lead of 2,400 to their 400.. there was no way they could catch us... But we wanted to enlist for our next war, So I reached out to their Co-Leader, (who was actually very reasonable and a sound player, infact speaking with some 420 players they have all been sound, just a few bad apples) we wanted to see if we could wrap things up early. We negotiated and Agreed to Terms:
We would med out so they could reach a 920 score (securing their rewards).
They would then return the favor so we could finish and re-enlist on time.
I even offered a cache from my own stash if they only got 1 cache from the awards and set up the trade in good faith...
We held up our end. We medded out and let them hit their score. But with 30 minutes left on the clock, one of their players went rogue and he broke the terms.
Knowing exactly what he was doing, he hospitalized our entire team, knowing we couldn't med back out in time. He intentionally forced us to miss our enlistment window. According to their own leadership, he refused to listen to reason, risking the free cache that we was offering and his own faction’s schedule just to stroke his big ego.
The Fallout
Breaking agreed terms is one of those "unwritten rules" that respected Torn players follow. Instead, this player showed a total lack of class. Now, apparently salty about losing to a "small" faction, he has moved back to a sister faction and is wastefully farming us for big chain bonuses to take respect from our 2 factions.
After speaking with some of the 420 gang we understand this is all because we flight-delayed him during the war. If that’s the reason, it’s ridiculous. Personally, I think he gave the "Billy Big Bollox" routine pre-war, got absolutely outplayed by an 85k faction and is now trying to save face because he’s embarrassed!! It’s okay to admit you were outplayed... It happens to the best of us.
When I reached out to who was the leader of the big sister faction, the faction who keeps regularly visiting, His, excuse was simply that "nobody likes turtles." If saying "your boys are getting slapped up" is considered "bad mouthing" worth this much salt, I can't imagine how fragile their egos must be.
To the veteran in question: You were supposed to teach your faction how to war. Instead, you taught them that your word means nothing. You’re supposed to be a leader, but your behavior is an embarrassment.
So, I ask the community, Is there still honor in Torn?
Our Faction LUPI have recently finished a WAR with Occul2us.
Around 22.00 TCT, which should've been the very last hour of the war, Occul2us had a small lead of 33 points, with the target score at 44. From what we understand about how the game works, the target score should've dropped to zero the next hour (23.00 TCT, making Occul2us the winners since 123 hours had passed and they had 33 points.
But the war just kept going!
We thought it might be a glitch, so some LUPI members even jumped out of the hospital to let Occul2us get more hits in. While that was happening, we noticed something really strange, every time Occul2us scored, the target score would mysteriously jump up to match their new total (like 39/39).
We actually have a screen recording that clearly shows Occul2us should have won fair and square. CheekyWolf even showed it to IceBlueFire, who told us to post it in the bugs and issues forum.
Eventually, it took about 15-20 minutes for the war page to update. It did correctly say that Occul2us had won, but it incorrectly added that LUPI had forfeited and it also showed neither faction got any rewards. This just isn't right, the war should've finished with both sides getting their earned rewards.
And we definitely didn't forfeit.
Both LUPI and Occul2us put a ton of effort and time into this war. We're really hoping this bug can be sorted out quickly so both factions can get the rewards they deserve.
This was, hands down, one of the best wars I've ever been in. We knew it was going to be an uphill climb, with Occul2us battle stats being three times higher than ours. Knew we would have to Turtle to give us the best chance! But honestly, the back-and-forth on the scoreboard, the constant nip-and-tuck and the sheer activity from both sides were absolutely awesome.
This war had everything: flight delays, bounties, restacking, chaining, and chain-breaking, TDA's, revives, everything and even pulling off sneaky attacks that we have renamed CHEEKYS signature 'sneaky-cheeky' move lol=the jumping out of the hospital and 'syruping up' right before taking another hit. Our Big Dave taking us through thick and thin!, our Chaining party flying away to gather the hits we needed and us TDA-ing abroad.. Was an absolute awesome mashup! The only thing missing on our end was that sweet cigar puff for the win!
For anyone who thinks this was boring, you're sorely mistaken. We believe in having proper wars with no pre-arranged terms. My guys did absolutely everything they could, you were all phenomenal, especially considering some of you have only been playing for a short time. Truly amazing! I couldn't ask for a better PACK.
But my hat also goes off to Occul2us. They pushed us hard and we pushed right back. They just managed to find a door we couldn't close fast enough. Fair play to them!
I'm really hoping the staff can rectify this bug soon so both sides get the rewards they've clearly earned
Who predicted that there would be 3 teams in the title race with 10 games to go?? I know if you want to be pedantic there is still 30 points available for teams underneath them like Aston Villa (played 28, 55points) and Tottenham Hotspur (Played 27, 53points) who could catch them but its very unlikely. I may be wrong but I cant remember 3 teams at the top being this close in my life time, (Coughs, 40 years). What's everyone's predictions?

Anyone with a tiny bit of character would've apologised if it was an mistake! Won't convince otherwise! The tiniest bit of integratory or morality would of gone a long way if it was a genuine mistake!
Vicious tactics, you having a laugh.. That was lame for us... "I should of planned for issues"- Im gonna guess that players are going to spit their dummy out and be salty, maybe I hand them a questionnaire pre-war? lol And the level of "viciousness" is subjective, what you call "Vicious" most call it the Norm or simply WAR! Plan for issues just incase... Honestly this made me laugh so much...
Normal people, my autistic self is far from Normal.. Again There was plenty of time.. the biggest mistake I made was trusting a veteran player! Won't happen again, so maybe i should be thanking the "SALTY ONE" for that lesson!

In war, flight delays are part of wars, same as mercs, horseheads, bounties, SED's, spies, loadout spying, TDA's, ECT... We war properly! :-D and also I tried to kill 2 birds with one stone with the midterm terms as both of us LF and 420 wanted to reenlist.. Also after speaking to a few of them, I didnt want them to walk away with nothing.. Were not Monsters! That why I put one of my own caches up if they didnt get the 2 they wanted! BUT Im the arsehole!!
We started talking about terms at 10:02:54 - 27/01/26, terms were set at 10:21..
But your missing the point all together, Terms were made by me and another leader, leader to leader! regardless of what time was left on the clock or whatever, we would of completed terms if someone didnt go rogue... He still broke terms

Let's play devil's advocate. Let's imagine for a second that you was totally oblivious to what his your own faction agreed to. Let's assume You genuinely didn't know... Easily done!
But If that were the case, would a decent player - or even a decent human being - not try to rectify it? A respectable leader would say, "My bad, miscommunication on our end," and maybe offer a token gesture or a simple "sorry buddy I was unaware you had agreed terms"...
Instead, there was no apology. No attempt to correct the error. In Fact you wasnt happy with your faction for agreeing terms!! STOP LYING!
The real reasons your Still hitting Us is your still very SALTY! "Own your CRAP!" You can hide behind "AFK" all you want, but we all know what this is. You are still salty about the in-war flight delays. You are salty that a "small ass faction" showed you exactly how to war, and you couldn't handle the bruising to your ego.
It is okay to admit you made a mistake. It is okay to admit you underestimated us. But pretending this was an accident while refusing to make it right just proves my point!

This war was absolutely not a termed war! LUPI does not term wars! It was EXACTLY how wars are supposed to be fought in TORN! We was really unlucky. We managed to get our noses in front with some strategic flight delays, we managed to catch them abroad and outscored them blow for blow, so the score was going up by single digits and we was getting slightly better Fair Fight (FF) score which gave us the edge. We got 106 points ahead. Which should of been enough BUT.. Then, in the final hours, one of our players, who had bled a ton all war, disappeared and we couldn't get hold of him to... Our plan was to all fly standard to SA and kill the clock, but wit not being able to get hold of him, that went out the window and gave them a superb target to try and score the bonus hits on, they also scored on us while we were trying to hospitalize him and once they got a lead of 33, they played a legendary defense. Completely shut up shop! Hat goes off to Occul2us... they didn't give us a single sniff once they got ahead. Even with us dangling some carrots to try and bait them out, they held strong and secured a well-deserved win.
Both factions gave it everything and it was a proper slugfest, a proper back n fourth war! Fingers crossed the Torn Gods smile upon us and award us some caches while wiping that forfeit off our record!

The Lounge looks awesome, Chicago style deco and dark mahogany furnishings, live Jazz band playing in the corner, Bar with a barman who knows every face and every rumour, a set of stairs leading upstairs to what's known to the regulars as Paradise.. Honestly bring your buddies along the next time your in Torn City I guarantee you all wont be disappointed.
I completely agree with Bogie; it seems that only the wealthy will gain from this idea. Perhaps a more effective approach would be to create new books and circulate them. We could introduce some racing-themed books or explore other areas that haven't yet been represented. Another idea could be that once all the books are completed, you unlock the Library, allowing you to become a Library Member with a stylish Library Card. Unlocking the Library would also introduce a new character, a new NPC—the Librarian. By combining two similar systems already in the game, the Merit system and the Missions, players could earn a Librarian Book Merit after completing a certain number of missions. This would grant them the chance to re-read a random book for 24 hours. Each time you finish the tasks, you earn another merit to use on a different book, or you can save up to try for two merits to unlock 48 hours. The cycle continues—eat, sleep, repeat—until you've completed all the missions and unlocked the 10 LBM's for each book, giving you the maximum of four days. After four days with a book, it would no longer be available for checkout. Additionally, I would implement a late penalty charge; if you don't return a book within the 24, 48, 72 or 96-hour period, you would lose that book and be unable to borrow it again for an entire year.
Or leave the display cabinet for what its supposed to be used for ie, showing off all your goodies :-D All the pretty Coins and books :-D And instead have a proper Weapons Cabinet or Weapons Storage Facility, where you can have all the options you've mentioned :-D You could even Have it so like you said you have to upgrade via points or like the Suitcases and buy different sizes..
