I'm making this forum to talk about the Trading Card Game, Magic: The Gathering!
If you aren't familiar with MTG or with TCGs in general, that's alright! If you want, stick around and read on! I wanna discuss various things like deck ideas, share stories and cards pulls and really just chat about Magic: The Gathering!
And if you find yourself going; "Hey, this sounds like something I wanna try!" Then good for you!
=============================================
So what is Magic?
Magic: The Gathering, commonly called MTG or just Magic for short, is a collectable Trading Card Game that has been around for over 30 years. It was created in 1993 and since then, has been growing and has a player base of about 50 million.
From collecting cards to official tournaments, there an amazing community of people with different niches to sit down at and watch. A bit of something for everyone!
============================================
As for me, I grew up with Magic: The Gathering, among other things like Dungeons and Dragons, Pokemon, and a whole slew of wonderful 90s and 2000s things! I've been playing Magic now for about 6-7 years, after my pops bought a bunch of cards and sat me down to play one day. Ever since, I've been really enthusiastic about Magic and have been building up a nice collection of cards! I play pretty casually and while my favorite format is Standard, I have been branching out to Commander and trying to learn about it! While I enjoy collecting the cards and playing the game, I'm curious to see what other people think and if there are any others who love the game to share ideas with or trade stories!
I have a lot of questions for the veterans of torn, so I figured I'd ask here rather than risk breaking rules in global XD
My first question is;
Based of the title, are there any good, casual factions?
I suppose what I'm asking is:
A Trusted Faction: a group that's been around for awhile that, overall, the community has a general like towards.
Faction Wars and Chains aren't a Priority: Wars and Chains still happen and members are encouraged to engage when able, but overall, whether or not a member is able to participate or not won't result in a penalty for said member.
Activity: IDEALLY, a discord or someway to communicate and coordinate with other members of the faction without having to solely rely on in-game chat for immediate cooperation and communication.
Learning and Growing: all in all, a place that will take the time to teach new members about Torn, how certain things work and how to build for the long run, while continuing to make this game an endeavor worth playing.
If you've made it this far, thanks for your time and your replies XD
If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear about them! Thanks again for reading this!

It's always sad letting go of something that you've invested in.
For us, strangers in a dingy, dank corner of the Internet, that's torn.
I don't know you. And I can't say I've had the pleasure of working with you or raging at you, but I do know this. Whatever or why you've decided to leave this dingy, dank corner, you're off to find bigger and better things than what you could find here in torn.
Whether that's starting a new life with a spouse, or simply choosing to be a better version of who you are. My only wish for you is this.
"May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
Best of luck, my friend. And enjoy whatever bigger and better things you may find out there in these lands unknown.
Yeah, todays market is quite a wild ride for trying to get into the game. I love token spam decks 😂 with my favorite being the Phyrexian Incubators from the All will be one/ March Of Machines block.
That's awesome!!! Where are you're lgs located if you're inclined to tell? Do you have any stories you'd be comfortable with sharing during your time as a Judge?
