I participated in this event, and it was really fun! It's still a brand new game, but once you start playing, it makes sense and is very easy to pick up. The host was amazing and friendly to everyone! I'm definitely looking forward to playing this more, and I hope it gains more attention.
I wanted to bring attention to an ongoing situation that I feel is important to address, as it has escalated to harassment and blatant racism.
A few days ago, I reached out to a player for help with a mission. I initially asked, “Help a brother out,” but quickly realized I could be more specific or come came off as begging, so I clarified that I needed three beers for a mission. The player responded, asking for proof of the mission. He reacted strangely, and I decided to ignore him and ask someone else for help. That person kindly sent me 100 bottles, no questions asked.
Days later, the first player messaged me, stating they were adding me to their hitlist, calling me a “beggar.” In the heat of the moment, I responded negatively, which I now understand wasn’t the best approach. However, what followed has gone far beyond the game:
• he threatened to ruin my entire experience in Torn City by enlisting their friends to target me endlessly.
• he called me racial slurs, including the N-word, and made racist comments like “I only like clear people.” (this is after he got reported hence why he said “clear people”
• he demanded responses within specific timeframes, threatening further action if I didn’t comply/reply.
I understand that trolling them initially may have contributed to the tension, but this level of harassment and racist behavior is unacceptable. Torn City is meant to be a fun and engaging experience for everyone, but this situation has made it toxic and unwelcoming.
I’m reaching out to the community to help address this behavior. Racism and harassment should have no place here. I’d appreciate any advice or support on how to handle this situation.
I wanted to mention a couple of things:
I have already been kicked out of my faction because he threatened to farm them unless I was removed. He claimed that I can no longer join any faction and suggested that I should start a new account instead.
Additionally, this person has months, if not years, of experience in the game and knows many experienced players. He is spreading false information about me, leading others to mug me and place bounties on me continuously. I WILL NOT MENTION ANY NAMES UNLESS THAT PERSON COMMENTS UNDER THIS POST.
