Vauquelin, his new companion, Ice, and Arni walked back through the creaky door. The priest took his leave rather quickly since he was told there was more marriages to be had back on his way down to Florida. He wasn't as familiar with the ground in these parts and got a shoe stuck in mud on accident. His shoe was given back to him by someone, dressed very casually and simple, accompanying him which would seem to be an apprentice of his.
Vauquelin and the teenager that was found at the side of their leader seemed to not mind the unfamiliar bit of woods of Georgia. He wondered when the group was going to make their way through Mississippi onto Louisiana to get through to Austin, Texas. There was some old woman from where they came from in Florida that seemed to have an eye for maps and gave them one for Austin, Texas. Maps only get passed on by travellers passing back and forth information by some form of help needed to obtain the maps generally. They're not too easy to come up upon.
Vauquelin made some funny gestures over the map he had layed out to get the attention of who was being misnamed as 'Lapda' in reference to 'lap dog.' The teenager laughed at him and had asked what he was doing.
Ice put his hand on Vauquelin's arm. "We need to know what your plan is for the group to get there. Not funny business."
Vauquelin slapped his hand away. "Lapda seems to know why I did it. Okay, okay. We need some more maps or directions to get through these other states. No one here has traveled through Louisiana, and from what I always hear from the clowns that aren't even from Louisiana is, 'You can't go kissing frogs from the swamp over there.' Some weird guy had warned us about some gang that probably isn't even a threat to us in those parts."
Ice's eyebrows furrowed on one side and lifted on the other. "No map from any of them?"
"None. They're not from the state and never traveled for a map. Maybe that lady lucked out with a map but only gave us one for more westward, of course."
Arni chimed in, "If guys weren't out there for their own or their teams and such, I'd probably be able to get some maps. They love pretty ladies, but it takes more than looks and friendliness to win cherished maps for frequent travelling."
Ice had covered her mouth. "That's a way to get killed. You're married to me. Hush. Let the guys talk for once."
Kal, while sitting in her chair, had to hold herself from chuckling at Arni's comment.
It seemed like most of what was on their plates that was served was nearly gone when they even began conversing with each other. Arni took the last bite of food which seemed to have gone cold and coughed a little. Kal was the first one to finish all of what was served to her on her plate.
Arni looked over to Kal to start up a nice conversation with her being so quiet. "You haven't said 'hi' when you first talked to us. Are you sure you're not an alien?"
Kal cooley replied back, "I did mention who I was, right? I'm just a druid named Kal. My birth name is something else." She goes to grab at the herbs she carried and the dead crows. The crows are grabbed at by the wings as she began to speak again. "This was kept for my allegiance to Odin."
"Hi, well, I'm Arni if I haven't mentioned it. Is it not reflex to say 'hi?'"
"Oh, sorry. Hi. Hello. Good day to you."
Ice stopped his conversation with Vauquelin and Lapda. His eyes darted towards his wife as he tried to hold her hand in line with his. "You guys continue the talking."
Arni chatted more with Kal before being cut off by her husband.
"I'm Ice. My wife and I were both fighters before being married not all that long ago. She's not with child yet. That's why she talks the way she does."
Arni's stomach is grabbed by her husband as then she reacts by putting her hand over his, and she takes his hand away from herself. "You're so rude."
"Who's the one talking like that? You were for a moment." It's all he can say before he grabs at her stomach once again and holds her in front of his body.
Lapda taps Vauquelin on the shoulder and whispers in his ear, "There's nothing there?"
Kal was the only one to overhear the whisper and wondered if Arni heard, too.
Arni clearly showed no signs of pregnancy but likely would later on given enough time. Her face had a pouty face like she was upset with her husband being so grabby just for the moment.
