Citizens of Torn, I have been investigating this for several months now. I have invested over 67 million dollars in buying the logs of your fellow citizens. It is not cheap to buy the every movement of fellow citizens, but someone had to do it for your enlightenment.
I first heard rumblings on discord about what appeared to be an increase in drug overdoses. It seemed like some newbie just complaining about the facts of life. But the chorus grew. It got louder and I couldn’t ignore it.
Cheddy Chedburn has proven that he is willing to tank the points market to control the economy. He’s increased or limited the supply of items to bend the economy to his will. We are his toys and he’s been experimenting with us by introducing the concept of Fentanyl.
The water is murky when it comes to understanding why Cheddy would turn on us. Some people are speculating that it is away to punish Monarch for their behavior over the last few months. Their drug fueled raves and player growth suggest that they are feeding Xanax and cans into the mouths of babies to continue their dominance of the RW space.
I believe there is more to it than that. It’s not about controlling Monarch, it’s about controlling the common man. The folks like you and me. Honest, hard working, folks in Torn City. Some of us don’t leave the city limits often. Also, it is to control the innocent green leaf who discovers their first Xanax in the junk yard and immediately ODs. Afraid to touch the stuff again.
Those random back to back ODs aren’t so random after all it turns out.
I’ve divided the players logs I’ve analyzed into four groups. Those that have never traveled to Mexico or Canada, those that have traveled to each once, and those that traveled to Mexico more than once. Because these four buckets were pretty close in player count, I normalized the data.
In order for Cheddar Head to continue to grow his empire and give old players something to do, he’s going to build out each location as its own city with its own culture and unique abilities. Imagine an Obeah church in the Cayman Islands that allows you to cast spells against other players, permanently increase your Cayman Islands interest rate, or permanently lower your happiness by 50% forever. That’s what sits in the back of his mind as he falls asleep.
Similarly, by introducing Fentanyl into the economy, this creates the perfect dynamic for all of Ched Side Burns plans. Not only does it continue to differentiate the different locations, but it also slows down old players and helps newbies. The reality is that they spent all this money on marketing to get new players in the door, but flying just isn’t what it used to be.
That means new players are struggling to pay for the erotic DVDs and Xanax they need. By introducing this game mechanic, the cost of Xanax drops helping new players, even if they OD a little more often. Older players who can afford 3 a day, are more likely to OD and then spend money getting out of the hospital. Each of those medial supply packs burnt up is just another little victory for Cheddy.
But what can we do?
We need to team up to keep the supply clean. That means never traveling to Canada and Mexico with Xanax and Ecstasy in your inventory. That will prevent this plan from actually going into motion any more than it already has.
Secondly, Xanax prices should drop. That means unload them all now while you still can. You will be able to buy them back at a lower price in 2 weeks to 3 months.
Lastly, buy up every last plushie you can from Mexico and Canada. Players will travel there less often and drive up the prices. This is your chance to get in before it is too late and profit from Big Ched. My belief is that Wolverines go to $25,000. Jaguars go to $50,000.

It's time that the honest folks of this fine city stand up for what is right. There's too much violence on the streets and increasingly I've heard from other green leafs that they're being shaken down with threats that they will be attacked everyday if they don't pay small sums of money.
It wasn't always like this. I remember a time when this was a peaceful place. Sure, crimes 1.0 sucked. The faction warring system barely functioned and everyone complained, but we didn't have all these newbs running around worshipping Bumbi.
It's time we Make Us Safe Again. This is the launch of MUSA campaign!
Cheddar Stain it is time for you to do what is right. You need to send in the national guard to cities like London, Dubai, and Paris.
I was sitting at my brother's house drinking a beer and playing torn. The neighbor's son came over and saw me spamming cracking. And he laughed so so so so hard when I pickpocket a homeless guy.
He's actually been playing for about 30 days and amazingly enough found a faction that hasn't tried to kick him out yet.
Is there anyone with a PI that would be willing to let him move in? He mostly keeps to himself and will probably send you a really bad joke every couple weeks or so. You'll get a bunch of marriage merits along the way, so I guess there is something in it for you.
Yeah, it will bias towards active players. That's one of the challenges of "community surveys", but it also represents the community because if they aren't active then they aren't a part of the comunity.
Login habits would be good. Another thing I'd love to know is how many torn players have a set an alarm that wakes them up at least once in their torn career.
The qualitative things are interesting. They're worth asking, but also probably hard to quantify by their very nature.
