If I critically fail at a crime, is there any way to know how many levels I lost?

Let's say I get these boosts by owning the required amount of stock. Will it benefit a company I work for? Or does it only have any effect IF I am the director.
Also, in what ways might I use free banner advertising provided by YAZ or free Classified advertising for the benefit of a company I work for but am not the director of?

Just last nite, my energy was showing 150/150, even though I knew I had 540/150. I refreshed a buncha times, then it just randomly corrected itself. I wonder if something similar happened with your happiness?
