So there I was there I was walking the street of beautiful Torn City, minding my own business, pockets lighter than a newbie’s stat sheet, when the chaos began.
The neon lights flickered over the skyline like Torn was trying to look innocent for once. I had just finished a “totally legitimate” business meeting (don’t ask) and decided to take the scenic route past the docks. Big mistake. Huge.
Out of nowhere, a guy in a chicken mask sprints past me screaming, “THE PLUSHIES ARE CURSED!” Naturally, like any responsible Torn citizen, I followed him.
We cut through an alley behind Torn’s busiest trade district, where I promptly tripped over what I thought was a suspiciously placed Xanax. Rookie move. Turns out it was just a glow stick someone dropped after a nightclub brawl. Still picked it up. Waste not, want not.
By the time I caught up to Chicken-Man, he had climbed onto a stack of medium suitcases yelling about the economy. Something about Donator Packs, plushie inflation, and how lollipops are the “true backbone of Torn’s financial system.”
And that’s when it happened.
A rival faction rolled up in three stolen cars. One of them had leather boots sticking out the window like a fashion emergency. They weren’t here for chicken wisdom. They were here for me.
Apparently—completely unfairly—I had outbid their leader on 375 lollipops earlier that morning. Was it petty? Yes. Was it strategic? Also yes.
They demanded compensation.
I tried to negotiate. I even offered them an empty blood bag (mint condition, slightly used). No deal.
So I ran.
Through the casino. Across the hospital parking lot. Past the airport where a guy tried to sell me oxygen tanks like I was about to summit Mount Torn. I vaulted a fence, lost a shoe, gained a new enemy, and somehow ended up back where I started… in front of the chicken-masked prophet, who had now started a small crowd and was charging admission.

I was out here trying to grind merits like a responsible citizen. She generously offered to strip off all her armor and fight me with nothing but a pillow so I could snag that sweet “beat someone with double your stats” achievement. A flawless plan. A masterclass in strategy. Sun Tzu would’ve been proud.
Instead, my guy logs in and immediately decides to yeet the HEG into low orbit like he’s trying to supply drop it to Pluto then proceeds to empty an entire magazine while aiming with the precision of a stormtrooper from Star Wars
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the story of how I got absolutely folded… by a naked woman wielding a pillow.
Moral of the story: never trust a plan that depends on my character having decent aim.
