Yo, just realized a lot of people I talk to are completely missing out on free items because they never check the City Map. I was one of them for a while, so I figured I’d drop a quick guide for anyone else who's new.
The Basics:
Every night at 00:00 TCT, the game randomly spawns items on your map. It’s usually just "junk" like bricks, beer, or spray cans, but there’s a real chance for the big stuff. People have found Dumbbells and Stat Enhancers worth $450M+ just sitting on a street corner.
How to get them:
1. Click "City" on your sidebar.
2. Actually look at the map. If you see a tiny icon, click it. That's it. No energy or nerve required.
The Awareness Merit (The Luck Booster):
If you want to see items more often, you can dump merits into Awareness.
• Each "pip" (merit point) gives you +20% Awareness.
• My advice: Don’t max this out yet. Most pros do the "One-Pip Wonder"—just put 1 point in for a cheap 20% boost and use your other merits for Education or Bank interest.
Important Note: This has NOTHING to do with "Search for Cash" (Crimes 2.0). Awareness merits only help find the freebies on the physical map. Don't waste your points thinking it’ll help your crime skill!
Go check your maps.
