New player perspective, I added check forums to my daily routine because of this event. I have skin in the game or any bias for any person/faction. But this added an element to the game and I actually thought i was being targeted by someone or something. It gave me a good laugh when I realized. That being said I just read a faction friends story about torn con. He even had extra bloodbags to send to faction members. It was so cool.
But im not going to lie the idea that staff play and hurt feelings can have in-game consequences for everyone, but them. Was a real swift kick to the crotch and deflated a large chunk of my game excitement. I understand needing moderation, but no player in Torn should be "untouchable". It cheapens literally everything. Especially since the players, especially those whales, pay the salaries. I went through most of the thread laughing out loud and then boom gut punch when I realized what happened. Saying its because X or Y makes it worse, because it means there could always be a X or Y claimed for any action. Now I need to watch everyone I do anything bad to? In a game where scamming is literally a legal game tactic. Yikes.
Worst of all just voicing this opinion will probably get my lunch money perpetually taken. You guys hiring a janitor by chance? Immunity sounds awfully appealing with all these mushroom cloud sunrises.
So i didnt find a single green stout on my map, which made me sad. I was curious for the easter egg hunt, do the eggs appear more often if I have the map search merit boost? I currently have 1 into it so 20% better chance of items appearing. Just curious if event items are affected by it or just random chance?

I dabbled in semi-professional poker in my youth. I find that there is really only 4 or 5 "styles" of poker players. The very best hands ive ever won have been against "by the book" who I hit the turn or river against. They typically tilt and go off about pure luck, trash player, etc etc. They never realize how they got read and played against. When they cant possible conceive a 10% chance they put themselves at a disadvantage. That and pocket players who over value being dealt a hand pair. Honestly I almost hate getting bullets, or any face pocket pair. I find it hard to milk a strong pot, bait or trap anyone, and tend to over play the hand only to get beat by some shitty two pair or something. My sneaky plays are subtle and often go unnoticed until its too late.
Anyway it sounds like these guys gassed you up a bit. While playing online poker i find chat is way too easy a way to get reads on people. They give way too much away. Sometimes it does require some prodding, goading, or unsavory behavior on my part. But its all for the sake of the read.
Since I play poker now for fun, but also for financial gains, I dont much pkay Torn poker. But the little I have ive won half of my net worth. I find it so easy that its my go to if I need some liquid cash. Doesnt feel like gambling at all as 9 out of 10 players play as aggressive alphas. Its obnoxiously easy to bait. My biggest win i flopped flush, had the nuts, and pocket kings bid me up to all in. I couldn't believe it. Just thought raising me was going to make me fold. That person still mugs me randomly a week later. Mind you I didn't talk any shit, they just got so mad I check raised the turn and river. Anyway I think chaos players are your weakness, if you can spot them quicker you would run them off with value raises preflop. Chaos players cant sustain that for the most part. Just dont over chase.
