I went to bed last night totally annoyed with Torn and I was laying in bed wide awake thinking I need to sleep or I will be in trouble at work tomorrow. So I forced myself to stop thinking till I finally got to sleep, I woke up in the morning surprisingly not annoyed anymore, I was like, oh well another Torn f**k-up, why am I getting mad when I should be used to their f**k-ups after almost 8 years of playing this game, same old same old.
Then I login to torn to train and do my crimes, check the company income, which comes in at 3 am in my time zone, checked the faction, then check the forums and read dear Beerstein's post after my tirade. I have to thank Beerstein, your post woke me up which I had a very hard time doing after like only 3 hours of sleep, and helped me be alert all day at work, too.
You asked me if I brought it up when it was announced, brought up what? That the special was overpowered? How on earth was I supposed to know if it is overpowered or not??? I thought it was a weird special when I first saw it.
The first time I realized how good the special is was when g_ho randomly attacked me and kicked me to kingdom come, and that was during the tag competition. Then I thought I have that special too, so I started attacking using kicks only, then unequipped all my weapons to make sure when I am attacked I will use only kicks to defend myself.
After the tag competition I asked my faction mates to attack me and send me their battle stats so I can see if it will be better for me to be just unequipped or not. My thread in our faction forum asking for attacks is still there, go look, I'm sure you guys can look if you want to.
How can you even think that normal people like me in Torn can tell if something is over powered to the point that it makes a 25 bil gold plated AK-47 useless? I don't own a gold plated AK-47, I don't even know anyone who owns one.
I thought the special was really good so I decided to go without weapons and just use kicks. And since Ive maxed my slashing mastery merit upgrade coz I was mainly using my dual scimitars as my weapon, I thought maybe I should reset my merits and use those 55 merits on something else since I was not going to be using any weapons anymore.
If you exploit exploitable things knowingly please don't put me in your category. I was just trying to use a special that was given to the furniture company.
If it was overpowered then the people who put that company special should know by testing it before implementing it. How hard can it be to check how strong 300% fist and kick damage will be? I thought you people in the committee had been doing testing on whatever upgrades are being made? So you guys think so little of furniture companies that you didn't even test the specials? And don't say otherwise coz it is very obvious this special was not tested.
Don't say that we should report it if our special is overpowered. How do we know it is overpowered? We thought we finally got a good special, that is what it was for us, a good special, especially after the furniture company was nerfed down when the companies were changed.
Don't give excuses for the incompetence of the way this special was handled.

What about the 25 bil they spent? They have their gold plated AK-47 don't they? Was it nerfed? No it was not. Do they not matter? Why are you asking me? Ask the people who decided to make a special that is better than their gold plated AK-47. I didn't do that. I don't even know how good a gold plated AK-47 is.
Why are you making me the villain here anyway?
Torn has a long history of making f**k-ups, of implementing changes that have not been well tested, etc, etc.
This is just another one of them.
You are a committee member, you should tell them what I am saying. Their incompetence are affecting the players who you as a member of the committee should represent.
Don't say that it was well tested coz this special was not even tested at all! That much is obvious.
There should be a set time for changes to be final.
It's been over 5 months since the company specials were implemented, and over 4 months since furniture companies have reached the 10 star rating.
And now you change our specials? And then maybe in a year's time you guys will change something again?
I reset my merits last week...just last week...so I can take better advantage of this particular special, thinking that it would be safe to do now it as it's been over 5 months...well that's 750 points down the drain.
I thought it was weird that I couldn't win battles with people even weaker than those I easily defeated during the tag competition...and it was done was right in the middle of our faction war too!
Honestly...an announcement prior to the change would be proper.
Set a date on when you will make whatever changes you make final or a time period for the changes to be on trial. Then we can do whatever changes we want after the change is finalized. Really, if you can't do that then don't make any changes that have not been properly tested!
So you are saying that the original Brute Force special made kicks better than a Gold AK that costs 25 bil? How on earth did a change like that got implemented? They didn't even bother to test how strong 300% fist and kick damage will make the fist and kicks?

I can't believe how incompetent the coders of this game are.

To whoever thought of this special, a question for you: Did you just pick 300% out of the blue, eyed how sexy 300% looks and said to yourself "This looks good as a 10-star special. All done there, now to the next..."?
The funniest part of this war was how everyone was avoiding attacking killin...lol. Then some of those who didn't realize how much dex he has starts an attack on him and would wonder how they can't seem to hit him, then everyone would join the fight.
Once someone attacks you and you are online an attack page will come up with an option button to manually engage.
If you do not click the engage button the attack will go on as it usually does.
But if you do click the engage button, then battle will proceed with you and your attacker hitting each other. If you decide to wait until the timer runs out before doing your counter hit then you lose and he wins.
