There is no reason why we can not attack players outside of the country if we have the ID or name with us. Why should they get protection? To me that is like putting your account on vacation with no chance of being attacked that is not right. Everyone should be free game.
After some serious discussions a few ideas, could be used to implement this to make it fair for everyone: 1. Simple solution never implement a vacation mode 2. Next newsletter each player gets a message in the newsletter they will have a 30 day grace period of protection to move any cash on hand to appropriate venues (banks, faction banks, companies or stocks) at the time 30 days is up you will lose all protection and will be subject to attacks/mugs. 3. Make a simple announcement from this day forward (add date once the 30 day grace period expires) you will no longer have immunity from oversea travels 4. Separate page for inactives. So it doesn't clutter up the page with active players. oversea travels. (idea added thanks to Accel)
Today is another sad day in Torn. Majority player base was not involved in this blatant exploit of many billions if not trillions of cash used to enrich accounts/factions.
Majority of these cheats are repeat offenders. Yet as of today they wont see one day in Fed.
Removing cash only slaps the hands of these offenders since most have already dealt with it in the past.
Ched/Bogie yes you dropped the ball on this one, but the information you were provided with, one could see that you were duped into thinking it was minor. Yes a full investigation should have been started to confirm the information you received was accurate, you did not. However you failed to smack the crap out of these cheaters because they sugar coated the exploit makes you both look weak and you are protecting repeat offenders.
They are many honest players, that see what is happening time after time and they also find it sickening and they are asking themselves how do I win at this game without cheating?
Your own staff does not enforce the rules, why even have rules?
So I ask when is honest players going to get a break in this game?
Karma year in perspective. Roughly one year ago I was the target of a vicious attack by a few players that should have been banned. This select group of players joined together for one mission. Was to keep me from joining in the Scrooge attacks and to keep me hospitalized during all the Holiday events.
It was so pathetic that they even named the mIRC channel keep Styx 420347 bountied and in the hospital during all events. I can assume they pooled the money to keep me bountied ¾ Billion in bounties. Sad thing is staff thought it was funny and refused to take down the channel title. You wonder why players think some staff are rotten. I took it. I could not participate. You think the story would end as the new Year approached. Nope, the one person who was obsessed with me continued to bounty my for a additional 4 months. I took it. I watched the group tank my then Karma score down to 0 four separate times because they thought it was funny.
I took it. I trained and trained during the entire year, avoiding hitting out minus my missions. To the point, the stalker fell weak compared to my stats. He used to get to level 100. Funny he had to hit me since he could not even touch anyone near his level. My stats are just shy of 3 billion his stats are just shy of (edited due to a whiner that is butt hurt his stats are crap).
Well now this month it is safe to say KARMA bit him back in that butt. He is broke to the point he does not even own his own home, A strong level 50 can pwn him. You would think after all that he would have learned his lesson. NOPE, he is picking on every new player he can find that he can afford to bounty. He is pure evil in global to the point people have muted him.
Now he has people harassing him non-stop which I do not encourage but if one person deserves it he does. There is too much hate in the world we dont need any in our little world we call Torn.
Unknown_Element [450910] try to be nicer to other players next year and you will find peace in your game instead of whining in the forums how little players are picking on you.

That was my point, making fun of a point that is struggling in RL is just as bad as if the person passes. At least they have no pain, so try to be sensitive to others live or dead, I never made fun of that person, just as I would never make fun of a person struggling in pain.

Living with 50 percent of my lungs and to get a nasty lung disease such as covid even being vaccinated (3 times) is a death sentence, I pray every night, that I wake up in the morning, hospitals are so over-ran because of the self-entitled pricks who refuse to get vaccinated, I cannot even get into a ER, heaven forbid a ventilator. Save your hope you feel better crap, you don't give a dam about anything except for getting your Kharma by making fun of people. To go to bed in pain each night, hoping you will see another sun rise you see things differently.

That is not correct, they need to have a reason and the ability(rank) to access the private chats. I believe the only reason that I am aware of is to conduct investigations, which would be admins/CM/officers that has investigation powers.
Every day is a gift, but if I knew today was my day, I would feel peace, the pain would be gone, I would say goodbye to my family and friends. As for faith, I know I am loved and would feel at peace. Fighting it? No, you do not have a choice, so it is better to accept it and enjoy the rest of the day.
My ideal last day is to be on a big boat watching the waves and enjoying the sea spray in my face with a cocktail in my hand.

You are right not everyone cheats, some actually want to improve the game/content for the player base. I enjoy beta testing because I am always thinking outside the box. I can see where people can exploit things and I report them. I have beta-tested in 3 Blizzard games for over a decade. Thank you for the kind words.
