So right now, cars can be modified with different parts — engine upgrades, suspension, tires, etc. Each one gives bonuses like acceleration, top speed, or better handling on dirt/tarmac. The catch is: what helps on one track can absolutely cripple you on another.
The current flow is:

My idea is to add one extra step: choose a “layout” for your car, just like we can with item loadouts.
Here’s how it could work:

You buy and fit parts like normal, but instead of being locked to one permanent setup, you can create different “layouts” for your car.

When you pick your car for a race, you also pick which layout you want to use.

Just like item loadouts, you could have multiple slots (maybe buy extra ones).
Why this matters:

For newer players with only one car, this lets them stay competitive across multiple track types without having to constantly swap parts in and out.

For everyone else, it makes car customization actually strategic — you can prep layouts for tarmac speed demons, dirt-grip builds, or all-rounders.

It keeps the system consistent with how items already work, so it feels like a natural extension, not an overhaul.
In short: the groundwork is already in the game with item loadouts — bringing that over to cars would make racing a lot more accessible, fair, and fun without changing how races themselves work.
