I got no reply from the past couple days events, because what surfaced theres nothing to defend- it went absolutely too far.
But graving this so fast lol is just pure unrelenting smug politics. Anyone drawing up memes and satire and looking to chuck this note under the rug and let it get swept away in the river of time 'lul cuz its uncle' lol is being disengenious as hell.
love or loath the guy, he's got the right to pen the reply on paper. I guess its a private entity who can do w.e they want, and as much as he replied doesn't mean it needs to be heard or read - but it shows a lack of backbone and spine for neutral princples & integrity to grave this under the guise of 'were attempting to prevent further escalation and inflammatiion of the issue', and to pick and chose what you want on public display.
Isolated decision making completely irrelevent to yesterdays events - graving that post above is just a gutless self centered decision lol, and it has nothin to do with me having the |x| tag in my name

nope sorry bud, im a bigger scrub
Problem with trump and vance, is that they genuinely view the world and their country as a business. Like full on minmax cost benefit analysis on governing decisions in the exact moment of time, who my personal friends are (not countries friends, my friends who wine/dine and sycophant for my brittle ego), and how i can turn diplomacy and world stability into an enterprise with maximum financial returns right now; regardless of future relationships or future questions on economy growth/quality of life. Geopolitics and global governance isn't a f**kin corporate game. Trump says he wants peace. he doesn't give a f**k about an average ukrainians lives or true peace; because he'd understand empathy or the position they are in and where zelensky is coming at in terms of peace terms - where their deaths and the defense of their nation cannot be in vain, and can't allow russia to just get a free pass and come back in 5 years and take another stretch of land.
Only thing trump sees is a weakly positioned ukraine, so that he can leverage that into a completely lopsided resource deal that will f**k ukraines ability to turn its economy once this is all over with. He see's this like a venture capitalist see's a very high potential business with unreal assets in a very vulnerable position and is willing to push for lop sided deals pillage those assets. That isn't what world diplomacy and geopolitics should be about in 2025, if that even needs to be said. If you do think thats exactly how things should be, especially as an american then i think you should give ur head a shake on what information or influences you are on these days.
A few thoughts
You think Canada sent US the bill for housing all their airborne airplanes during 9/11? You think UK sent a bill to france or netherlands/belgium in 1946 saying 'without us you'd be f**ked.
You think when Nato/nations helped US with the korean war, their floods, their forest fires, 9/11 rescue & cleanup, vietnam support, iraq/afghanistan support... they just said eh you know what. Ur billionz n billionz n billionz in debt to us were just getting unfair treatment and its unfair you know? Its time for that cheap f**k of a nation US to pay up. Fires, flooding, disasters... ahh well, they can just burn and people will lose their houses but oh well thats not our problem if you can't handle it on ur own, were sick of being taken advantage of.
UK, Australia, Canada, whoever else im missing - went to war alongside US,& americans because we saw the towers get hit, saw the lives lost, the grief, americans rattled and angered... innocent people's lives being interfered with by tyranny. (whether you believe its an inside job or not, lol idgaf).
But for most countries who answered the call, it was done so out of peacekeeping and good natured idiology of lifting the downtrodden, and support friends and neighbours against those who want to hurt - like always. There was no spreadsheets and minmaxxing of costs; countries turning a shoulder and demanding you pay up to compensate all the $$ we spent helping cover ur ass... or risk losing ground from the guerilla activity with more of men needlessly getting blown up by terrorists and other fighters when we leave you here solo. There was no deep south political obsession in using the conflicts as a scapegoat false root cause for the governments all around bigger budgets. No uninformed push to lower expenses "cuz I want muh lower taxes so I can keep my sunday football n steak dinners." Countries jumped in mostly no questions asked and even if there was small initial concern, nobody was going to George W. askin for a refund.. even though thousands died helpin support murica from when its towers got blown to shit.
To think of foreign policy now as a more completed transaction based business, and think US thinks their country is the exception to the rule is f**ked. I don't wish or hope for this in a 1000 lifetimes - but i pray theres no collosal event in the US/against the US in the next decade where as much as they can be self sufficient - need help from friends to relieve tension. Because atm they are gonna have absolutely f**kin nobody willing to spend resources to go and help. I imagine they wouldn't be alone because average culture outside of the US is a lot more peacekeeper and empathetic towards global tyranny. But they aren't helping themselves pissing everyone off. Don't try fixing a cracked window with a sledgehammer.
I don't normally do threads but 20 years seemed a while and is this account is probably older than some of the player base lol. So a post for my own record lol.
I only really started playin seriously past few years, and was on a bit of a 5-7 year hiatus before that with university & Career - so would be disingenuous to say I've been active the whole time. But i've been active quite heavily daily since, and don't regret a minute of it. Maybe some of it lol.
I definitely remember when and where I was when I created the account, and the gongshow that was mid 2005 Torn as highschoolers in the MSN Messenger era- but i'll spare the length. Let's just say most of us were prob using dial-up internet and u only had broadband internet if u were in the big cities, using a Motorola razr phone or wanted one (or blackberry), and Tom was ur first friend on Myspace. Simpler times.
Now i'm stuck with a Jocko Willink ID that prob can't change cause too many people recognize the ID now... but thats life lol.
to another 50 years! maybe... prob not.

Adding a little [lot lol] something to OP's post, because i think as much as its important for the stigma to be lowered and men feel they can reach out and ask for help or know its fine to work through it with others - part of the stigma is that most people don't know the signs of it, know how to reach out or are so tied up in their own rat race of life and schedule that they aren't, or can't even actively see patterns in other people. Let me share a bit here from another source;
Common Challenges & Signs
Recognizing the signs of mental health struggles in yourself or a loved one is the first step toward healing. Men may express distress differently than women.
Look for:
-
Behavioral Changes: Increased irritability, anger, aggression, risky behaviors (substance use, excessive gambling), social withdrawal.
-
Physical Symptoms: Persistent fatigue, unexplained aches and pains, changes in appetite or sleep patterns.
-
Emotional Concealment: Difficulty expressing emotions, appearing numb or detached, avoiding conversations about feelings.
-
Functional Decline: Trouble concentrating, loss of interest in hobbies or work, neglecting responsibilities.
How to Support Men’s Mental Health
It’s time to build a culture of support and proactive care. Here’s how you can make a difference this June and every month:
-
Open Conversations: Initiate discussions with the men in your life. Ask “How are you, really?” and truly listen without judgment.
-
Challenge the Stigma: Educate yourself and others that seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
-
Encourage Professional Help: Normalize therapy and counseling. Share resources for finding qualified mental health professionals.
-
Promote Healthy Coping Mechanisms:Encourage regular exercise, adequate sleep, balanced nutrition, and engaging in hobbies.
-
Foster Connection: Combat isolation by promoting social engagement and supportive relationships.
For many - they've seen friends and family, co workers slip into this and as much as they support or lend an ear its a day to day challenge to be truly supportive and present and that positive support can't be understated
But i know personally i've also seen the other extent where people feel like they 'didn't see it coming and were shocked' when a close friend in our community passed on and didn't know they were struggling - in spite there being clear signs. A once extroverted and lively person going into withdrawl, turning down social invites and not answering texts or calls; going from energetic person to one that was tired/gassed even after waking up from a 9h sleep and never wanting to be a bother to anyone else or get in the way of others with their problems - i noticed them, but others with wife kids, hobbies, type A career mindset - weren't looking for it or knew how to.
We're all busy in the rat race, or horse blinders on to the next achievement or daily tasks of raising kids or having a killer career. But it's also in us the duty to actively listen with our eyes/ears and senses to ppl in our communities and be cognizant of changes. Don't always just see it as someone drifting apart or away from you, or that 'they must not like me anymore'. Have that cup of coffee and check in on people.
This is getting long, and appreciate ppl still reading - but its also important to remember this isn't purely about the darkest of depression and isn't necessarily just with men. There are an endless list of mental struggles ppl go through daily that can hinder how receptive they are to people or groups. An example of this is deep Imposter syndromes and a constant sense of inadequacy or not being good enough especially in workplace. Part of understanding mental health is adjusting how we are facilitative and open to people in general. (especially if ur in management). Most people aren't main character syndrome egomaniacs, -& how facilitative and open engaging we are with some ppl can be the difference between someone feeling inadequate and not good enough to the group or their job; and someone feeling worthy and noticed and flourishing as a result. Sometimes people aren't receptive to sarcasm, mockery or light schadenfreud humor as most of us are - because they only see the worst in themselves and every sarcastic remark, mockery or fail thats thrown on them just validates that self negativity.
So in general just take away that mental health awareness isn't just about looking out for the ppl currently at their darkest as well as yourself. Its to be aware or be a little more supportive to everyone in the day to day because u never know who you are engaging with.
New OC that falls into same spawn button as 3 other OCs lol... Break the bank, Clinical P, Blast from the past... leading up to this new OC release, this was my spawn values over a 4 week period (just mine, not other team mates);
12 Break the Banks (14.45%)
22 Clinical Precision (26.5%)
49 blast from the past (59%)
5 manifest cruelty (26%)
12 stack the decks (73%)
I won't get into a whole other long post about the current terrible spawn and income generating issue in OC 2.0 atm (which i find i have the data to show that factions have a limiter on the total income they can generate week over week and the spawn, success/fail and oc types all generate around that weekly/biweekly income cap- but thats a different post). But given our historical spawning efforts to get higher valued OCs for our members who routinely get 75-86%+ or higher success rates on all Clinical P, Break the Bank, Ace in the hole- and good result 1/best in OCs (crimehub) and mixed with the context of crappy spawn %s above... now we have a new oc and this is my 48 hour spawn history;
small sample size but you wanna wager what that will look like with another 48h? lol
for an OC that has even a lesser difficulty level than blast from the pasts. I get you make new OCs to balance things out and give a more gradual progression for various levels and sizes of OCs to growing factions. But why must you manually override or adjust spawn rates to pump up new OCs so people are aware of them or you get more data samples in for your own tests so you can adjust it?
TLDR is; There's already a spawn button that handles 3 OCs that's already a pain in the ass to get enough OCs for your team that are at a level they can handle and keep growing. You drop a new OC and the only thing we can seemingly get are these new damn OCs which offer less EV to our members and CPR exp less than what we were currently organized at. Why lol? Same thing happened when the new Manifest Cruelty came up; even if we wanted to do more Ace in the holes, you simply wouldn't let any faction do them while they had to wait days wasting Scope on stupid Manifest OCs nobody wanted to do, or realized it wasn't worth the EV$$ or the cost of lesser CPR exp gains.
Why can't you just pick a fair spawning ratio and stick to it, instead of trying to thrust new content and crap into our faces that might not necessary meet factions needs? Imagine an Endurance or F1 driver building and optimizing towards driving high performance AMGs, Ferrari's, audi's - and you forced them to get into a brand spanking new Fiat 500 because its the new zesty thing on the market. Makes 0 sense. Fix ur spawning system or ratios, please lol.
*edit - i know ya disliked it, but what do you want for feedback that you've disliked this post for? The spawn rates are an absolute mess and they do need to fix the buttons since the gap in difficulty between a break the bank/clinical P is lightyears different to this new crime and blast from the past. What is there to disagree about lol
No 90s eurodance tunes? What's this!
they should put that new OC into the Level 8s, not Level 7s, so that way we only get Break the banks 2% of the time instead of the what feels like 5% of the time now.
we'll gladly take all of those off your hands lol, we are the opposite to your scenario - we can't buy a level 8 and had 1-2 break the banks in a 4-5 day period. Not first time either, these dry spells seem to come in 3/4 weeks a month these days. Lol we lapse more Lvl 7s then use attempting to get better Level 8s.
This entire system is a mess and defies logic. I'm just assuming now the system is in place so they can intentionally hard cap the amount of income being injected in the game through OCs
The factions that don't need Level 8s, get the Level 8s lol. Factions that are at a 90% success rate on Blast from the Past + 85% success rate break the banks and need higher difficulty to keep scaling, can't buy a break the bank to save their lives lol. Make that make sense.
Now that were well into the OC 2.0 experiment, they gotta use the data they have and start making some positive updates to this shit lol.
I like the DB. Good on em', fk the people judgin lol. ultimate freewill move. Who gives a shit how ppl wanna spend their money or game experiences. It isn't always about nerdo minmaxxing.
I might be in wrong place... or missed it in prior pages but has ched, economy guy, or someone else shed light on a solution around the cost of Firewalks, and the crappy spawn calculus that is a 3 way battle of Break the Banks, Clinical Precisions + Blast from the Pasts from a single category click?
Or is it part of the plan to see OC's that generate 150M gross need to spend 10%+++ of that on a Virus, tool, items (they are up to 17Mish now in non bazaar item markets lol) to scrub money out of the game.
Just curious - because they added more lower tier OCs, adjusted Elabourate spawn balance. But is there any conversation i'm missing about the firewalk question?
Or in other use case - a faction that can more than handle mostly Break the banks gets stuck with spawning only 3 of them over a 10 day period and are instead just moping up endless Blast from the Pasts? I know we're not the only ones with this pain point - but i'm just wondering if there are even conversations monitoring this type of outcome/situation atm or if there's solutions/strategies on the horizon to adjust it.
great stuff, did some testing. works as mentioned. small idea that could enhance it if possible - specifically for the missing items:
-it prioritizes the OCs that are closest to running, so it loans out those that need it more immediate (important if factions are running lean and only want to issue items just-in time or in a 48h window or whatnot)
-ability to cycle through missing with left/right arrows or somethin' (so if we don't have inventory items of firewalks, can still process the other missing items without it being hung up)
-ability to to filter out planning vs. recruiting OCs - so if manager wants to only start loaning out gear for in-planning ocs, they can do that.
those are all fairly optional enhancements lol, but could add some QoL for folks. Apart from that, pretty nifty little tool!
if ched really wanted to tho, theres so much interplay that is being left off the table with cpr/skills and using those towards other player activities... a prime example is firewalks/viruses here.
You have a hacking crime, lol Hacker related CPRs. Yet everyone just magically goes on a laptop and pumps out virus's for fixed timelines.
Firewalks and all virus' should be rewritten and designed around the hacking crime/hacker/ related cprs and skill pool, so better skill might earn you a better quality virus, reduction time in creating it, or reduction % of it being lost in an OC or crime. or something more advanced below:
One method for ex-
a) Make Virus' that are baseline tools you have to craft or design for a longer period initially - the first time you make it. (same amt of time or longer). Lets say maybe you can make a max of 3 (arbitrary), and they realistically the first time you design and build it takes a couple months (unless ur higher hacker related CPR/skills, then it decreases)
b) instead of them being consumed, they simply become 'outdated', cause like in real life lol antivirus and op sec groups find them, understand them, patch them. So instead of having player go and make a whole new one again; just have a shorter maintenance cooldown like "1 week" (arbitrary) that you'd spend "updating" the Virus. Make the currency/cost to refresh this virus a mix of Energy, and Money.
c) hacker related crimes/cpr skills could go towards how long it takes the virus to become compromised or outdated before you need to refresh it. Or limiting critical fails and being traced for jail time. Better skill = flat rate longer time before needing update, or a % reduction of being caught and needing to fix it.
d) in theory - if someone had decent crime exp, cprs - and had at least 2 of these virus', they could healthily cycle through using one while updating/fixing the other, and then create a new one and sell the excess 1 in their inventory (since they can only hold 3 in our ex).
It would reduce bottlenecks and creation lags, it would add a maintenance component for every member to manage their virus 'cooldowns' or when they go outdated, and for the most part the costs wouldn't scale with supply/demand - but would still depend on the userbase staying active and keeping their virus inventory 'patched and updated'
- this is just one example. there are a shit tonne of skill or cpr type data points that could be used in crafting, maintaining, etc. based on CPR skills or hidden crime exp/skill values. They just aren't.
great idea, and even if ched didn't want to go full non consuming or tool direction... not sure why he can't have more durability/odds mechanics in the game so instead of single use... its like 3,4,5 uses. or we..
even if there was a basic ass RNG element where it was like.... 50% chance the firewalk gets burned up or 'lost' during the crime, it would be better than 100% consumption rate.
like either an rng % it fails, or have a flat is consumed after 2-3 (insert number) of uses. Then he can just add some b.s flavour text to match realism and lore such as;
"Anti virus systems have finally caught onto our firewalk files, and we need to adjust it a bit, looks like we'll need a fresh one after this to avoid it failing"
that plus better cooldowns/perks to speeding up coding could go a long way. cause agreed with this thread - hate to say the obvious but firewalks are very close to being able to be cornered in the market with no alternative and making them basically impossible to run
and when ya do need to fill out your squad with blast from the pasts- you go to grab some firewalks for your armory in the item market, checks prices, pulls glasses down nose to see for ur own eyes - and notices em' on sale for an absolute bargain @ 15.5M, with a concentrated market, limited sellers, & in risk of being completely cornered... lol.
really makes sense atm some of it lol don't it lol.
might be wrong place - but was always kinda suprising there was no OC related upgrade trees that came out with 2.0. Maybe it was on cheds whiteboard somewhere but seems like a no brainer.
-You have trees that incrementally give factions ability to decrease booze or can coolers, etc by x%.
-Why not just spitballing - have trees that are unlocked through doing OC/crime reps - that improve the the RNG to the crime they want? Factions spend respect to invest in success chance up to somethin arbitrary like 0% to max +50% chance of getting preferential OC. Then just have the UI like this or something;
(sorry for the crappy ai with non matching theme - it was quick and dirty but meant just as a wireframe - but it matches my intentions/requirements when it comes to either a slider system or a ranker/priority queue type thing.)
either as a slider;
or a ranker;
Then your faction upgrades go towards having an influence on your factions preference, and you'd never have to switch to a "pay for specific crimes" deal, theres rng - but naturally as factions grind and get 'better' - they should be able to upgrade and control outcomes better.
Cause i agree with others here - lol being able to barely do a couple Manifest Cruelty's, but spawning 5/5 of them in elaborate and not getting a stack the deck is prime b.s lol.
or on the other hand trying to optimize the talent of your squad and you get stuck with 10 for 10 Blast from the pasts, u crush 40 scope and get negligible break the banks in crazy poor luck streaks. Maybe thats intended to avoid excess money getting dumped in the game and the rng is dynamic - but its still b.s lol
same... same. School & career took over lol
edit... can't remember if i already commented on this thread and my alzheimers is kickin in, but its crazy OP and my starting dates were a day apart lol
[image: i.ibb.co]
lol... sorry i had to.
unless one is among a finalist/top % team, and those in the leads/council/etc take a payout or future considerations goodwill deal from another self righteous ambitious leader for the L, and they sell their team out who would have no idea, and you could just gaslight them to the moon and back lol.
like that never happens- /s lol.
for the pure chaos, in future years elims everyone should have access to the leaders discord - but only the leaders can speak in the rooms and everyone else is just a spectator. So its like a glass window looking onto the stage, seeing the shenanigans, & b.s in real time. Even tho the greasy schemers would still take things offline - would be hella entertaining and transparent if they didn't, and would shown ppl their true colors/personalities lol or they'd need to shapeshift to soften the optics
