So, as some may have noticed, we have at least 1 or two factions (MnC, JFA) where a significant % of members swapped to female in order to all join the Pink Power elimination team. Such abuse was inevitable, but luckily they didn't think this plan through. They want to win through superior organization and planning ahead to all be able to join the same team. That's fine.
Instead of bitching about it and saying they are ruining Elimination, there is an obvious choice the rest of us face. Let's just eliminate Pink Power first. It doesn't matter how stacked they want to make their team, they cannot take the rest of the teams combined! So let's do this, competition wide alliance until the first Elimination. On September 15th, we team up and eliminate Pink Power. Afterwards, let the best team win.
Behold, the great pink conspirators retaliate to this effort with an attack on karma!
One issue I think with Elimination, both as an observer and as a player, is that is often doesn't feel very dynamic. Aside from the political moves of alliances and betrayals, you have these long periods where the ticket totals seem to stagnate while we just wait for a team to die.
I'm imagining ways it could feel more dynamic, and I've come up with two:
1) All teams lose lives periodically. Like everyone is bleeding out slowly, with the max length of the Elimination period determined by the number of starting lives and the rate at which they are lost. Practically, it would mean as we reach the last few teams alive, they would each die quicker. We won't have these full days just waiting for one team to die. Fewer lives I think would mean more desperate fights as well, and more drama.
2) Tickets are removed from the pool periodically. Maybe it is a static value removed from every team that has lives, or maybe it is proportional to the number of tickets each team has. I'm thinking the latter. The practical impact of this is reducing the size of a ticket lead any team can get before the end. We want climactic final battles. If everyone were fighting over only a couple hundred tickets in the last couple days, every attack would feel more impactful and leads would feel surmountable with tactics and activity.
Ever since I first bought my Halloween basket, I've fantasized about seeing how many consecutive hits I could get on a single Halloween chain. This is my first year starting with a Nightmarish basket, 3500 TV Company points and a 19% Revitalize primary all with the goal of maxing my total attacks.
The energy breakdown for 523 attacks:
Stacked: 750 (Messed up my stack timing, go figure) Point Refill: 150
Xanax on CD: 250
9 FHC: 1350
3500 TV points: 2400
Newsletter: 250
Basket: 5400 Revitalize: 2525
TOTAL: 13075
Some interesting observations:
For 523 attacks, my 19% revit triggered 101 times. Without it, I would have hit 422.
For the math nerds, a 19% chance to refund an individual attack turns into a 23.46% expected increase in attacks, due to the potential for a free attack to lead into another free attack, and potentially another, etc. The equation is the sum of the series of (0.19^x) where x=0 and goes to infinity.
422 * 1.2346 = 521, so I came out slightly ahead of the expected value.
I believe I got about 800 treats with those hits. I didn't record my starting amount, maybe there's a data monkey out there who knows how to quickly get the total treats gained today.
Using torn.report, I learned I received 1052 treats today with an estimated total value of 1b.
