I think you are wrong saying the top companies do not. If one of my employees drops due to inactivity it knocks 10mill + off my daily income. I had 2 out of the game for 4 or 5 days and I am 100million behind the other two companies at the top.
There are a lot of reasons as to why profits can go up and down in the game. Loyalty is definitely one of them. But the inactivity really hurts me.
