* IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT *

The time has come to end this thread's run. As I write this now (Oct 16), the bar inventory stands at [Bottle of Beer x175], and I won't be looking for further beer donations to keep inventory in stock at this time. We have gone through over another 37,000+ bottles of beer in the past 2-3 months since the last update and we are nearly tapped out, all from daily beer requests and games and prizes. It has been a fun ride, with many a fun games played along in here. Thanks to all who have participated and made this thread a fun little place in the little ol' Fun & Games forum. I think it is mostly just time to move on to the next idea when it comes and to leave this thread as ran its course. I won't say 100% that it is gone and done, but as soon as this last 175 beer in inventory runs out, I will be closing down the bar for beer requests, and most likely for the end.

A quick look at the stats during this time:

We have had over 500 forum pages

It has been active nearly 8 months 

I have sent out well over 4200 unique item sends (mostly from this thread)

There has been over 117,000 bottles of beer sent out

Some kind folk have also sent out 1000s of candies and plushies

There has been 30+ larger and unique games and plenty of smaller games pop up

The thread has morphed a few times, changing in format or layout, but has stayed alive and active throughout

And much much more worthy of being mentioned, but will just keep it simple saying it's been a fun thread and I thank again all the supporters and participates here in the Bar Torn City thread.

Gameplay:

The game starts out with 10 rooms; Room #1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. The game will be played through a series of elimination rounds. Round 1 will be the sign up round (see below) and then there will be the first elimination. Players will enter a room by posting in this thread with their room choice. At elimination time, one room with players in it will be eliminated from the game. All players that entered that room will be eliminated from the game. The remaining players will move on to the next round. Each round thereafter will continue in the same manner with the remaining players entering a room of their choice from one of the remaining rooms. Each round will end with an elimination where one room with players in it will be eliminated from the game along with the players in that room for that round. This repeats until the game ends with 1 winner. If we get to the last of the 10 rooms and multiple players remaining in the game, then we will move to the underground rooms, Room U, N, D, E, R and G, with the same process of elimination among remaining players until there is a winner. I have already predetermined the order in which the rooms will be eliminated and no one else will know this info until the game is over. I posted the elimination order in a place where only I can see at this time, and it is time stamped for validation after the game is over, if needed.

Sign ups are open until the end of July. You must sign up before 23:59 July 31 TCT to enter the game and have a chance at the $100m cash prize.

To sign up, you must post in this thread to enter 1 of the 10 rooms for Round 1.

IMPORTANT: To play in this game, you must first enter 1 of the 10 rooms in the sign up round.

**After the first elimination round, no new players may join in the game. I will announce the first eliminated room on Aug 1 sometime after the close of sign ups.

Additional Rules and notes:

Important- for each round, there MUST be at least 2 different room #'s with a player in it. This ensures that each round will result in a player or players being eliminated from the game. *if all the players remaining in a round happen to join the same room, then I will notify the players that 1 or more will need to move to a different room, and the elimination will not occur until there is at least 2 rooms with players in it.

Besides the 2 different room # rule (above), anyone can join any room #.

After the first and each elimination, only the players remaining in the game after each elimination may enter a room in the next round.

There will be no limit to the number of players that can join one room.

I will announce the end time for each round with a post in this thread, and you will need to make your post to enter a room before the end time of the round to count.

At the end of each round, I will announce the room that has been eliminated for that round.

All players that entered the room eliminated are then eliminated from the game.

To illustrate, if player 8, player 12, and player 15 all entered Room X for the first round, and Room X was eliminated, then all those players would be eliminated from the game. The remaining players not in Room X, would move on to the next round.

If you do not post to enter a new room for the new round, you will simply be eliminated from the game at that point.

You do not have to enter a different room # for each round, however, you MUST make a post to enter a room for each round.

If a player enters a room that has already been eliminated in a prior round, well then they will simply be eliminated in that round. You will need to keep an eye on the thread for what rooms have been eliminated and what rooms are still open to enter at each round.

If we get to elimination round 5, for example, and the room that is set for elimination has no players in it, then I will simply move to the next room in the elimination order.

The rounds may get quicker toward the end as there are fewer players remaining in the game. However, I will still give a minimum of 12 hours for each round before I end a round and announce the elimination. I will end the round early if all the remaining players in the game have posted their room choice for the round.

Again... the game goes on until there is 1 remaining player in the game for the win.

The winner gets the full $100m cash prize.

Luck and participation are key to the game here. You will have to post to enter a room for each round you remain in the game to avoid elimination and you will need some luck to avoid the elimination room for each round!

What is Torntoberfest?
Torntoberfest is a challenge to the Torn community to attempt to drink so much beer (in game) to 'temporarily' decrease the number of beer in circulation, while spreading cheers and good spirits throughout the community. We know from the circulation graph that the amount of beer in this game is ever increasing, so therein lies the challenge. The base point for this year's challenge is the Sept 24 total in circulation of 50,642,100. With inspiration from Oktoberfest, this challenge will end along side it with the final day Tuesday Oct 3. As this is a first annual, not everything is worked out fully but I will update accordingly.

Q: Okay, so how do we do this? A: Well simple, drink as much beer as you can. If your in and willing to use all your booster cooldown for beer for the challenge, then this is the time to do it and maximize your booster cooldown daily and drink those beers.

Q: I don't have any beer, how do I play along? A: Buy beer from the item or bazaar market (it's cheap) and drink up. Bits 'n' Bobs is the cheapest source to buy beer, however, buying from there actually increases the total beer in circulation. Obviously, players are still going to buy the cheap stuff, we just have to try as a community here to consume more that what is brought in. Challenge accepted, right?! A: Reply in this thread with your request for a beer supply and I, or someone in the spirt of Torntoberfest, will fulfill your request for beer.

Q: How will enough players find out about this to actually attempt to decrease the beer in circulation? A: Word of mouth, spread the Torntoberfest spirit, and post on this thread.

THE CHALLENGE PRIZE: $50m/$25m

(1) I am putting up a $50,000,000 PRIZE for the winner. Prize is completely dependent upon on the challenge criteria being met and will only be paid out IF Torn sees the decrease in the beer total in circulation on Oct 3. Consolation prize is half at $25,000,000 PRIZE if we, as the Torn community, are unable to decrease the beer total in circulation per this challenge. I may increase or decrease the prize amount depending on the spirit of TORNTOBERFEST. This prize can also be increased by donation from the players or others.

(2) Entry for the Challenge Prize will simply be by participating in the spirit of Torntoberfest through posts to this thread relating to any of the above fun and games. I will keep a list in a new post below to show all the confirmed entries in for the Big Prize.

Within the next 5 minutes, I will create a custom race. I will put your name in the race and it will be a short race. You can join the race if you want (if you are able), but it is not necessary. I will post the race results here after anyway.   So….. if the last digit of the first place finisher’s time is an even number then you win your double.  If it’s an odd number, then you’ll lose this round. 

For clarity, if the first place finish time is 07:12:24, then the last digit would be 4, an even number.
