Has anyone developed a good excel spreadsheet where you can keep track of the items you buy (cost price and quantity) as well as items sold - sale price and quantity sold and therefore figure out an ongoing profit/loss statement
Be nice if it had like an inventory to work out first in first out sales method. rather then just doing it all manually like i have been.
Reason i ask is I am sure it can be done with a few fancy excel formulas and sheet links i just cannot figure out how to do it. It would help me and others I'm sure to track profits and what can i say, i like to play with spreadsheets, I'm just not very good at it.
Be cool to have drop downs to pick items your buying etc as well.
Anyone taken the time to make one? got the skills to do so? Id reward for an advanced spreadsheet :)
i can use formulas and figure them out and drag and edit them. i just cant figure out how to start from scratch and have them work between sheets. it has to be possible using vlookups or hlookups and once i get some code that works then id be set.
if it could be set up just for the drugs for instance then i could duplicate or figure out how to make it work for all other items.
But i like the use of formulas and excel i just don't have the brain matter to make it work. Have tried many times!! I dont want to have to sit and calculate my profit to-date i just want to key in purchases and quantities, sales and quantities and wham i have stock - i have profit or loss at the moment. can then be converted to make graphs and things from sales of particular items and it allows me to track how much i bough things for because as soon as you have clicked off the purchase page. there are no records of it.
I like spreadsheets and was hoping to find someone with the same interest but more know how then myself. sure i can make 3 sheets and key in purchased 10 xan for 870k then click to next sheet and add 10 items to xan and then next sheet once i sell some and key in as they sell then go back to inventory and deduct the amount sold then i can manually work out First in first out method... but talk about time consuming and not as much fun as having it automated
had a look at ccwy's excel spreadsheet and this is not what im after at all! i dont care what the best price is and profit per hr etc.
I just want to by any item from anyone put it in a spreadsheet for the price and quantity - total cost. have the item added to an inventory sheet so i can see how many i have at a glance then as i sell them i key in how many are sold and it works out the profit by subtracting the cost.
First in first out method - so if i buy vic's at 10k for 100 then 12k for 50 I'm selling the first 100 before i am selling the 50 this way i can see on going profit.
If someone can make what i want - id look at paying 100m for it
