For comparison, a reasonable amount of battle stats but no nerve spent in C2.0, lots of old system CE but not like the pre-nerf busters:
Thought it was interesting that my Muscle is near your Thief on the T8. I'd place you in one of our T8 B teams if that is any consolation.
There is definitely an increased emphasis on having passable levels of every factor, each battle stat, workstats, crime skill.
Have read some grumblings from folks that have left one battle stat far far behind being impacted.
(This is not a "woe is me" post, FYI. I know what I've done by not migrating over yet and I'm not here to give anyone a TED talk about hacking crimes) The mayor will continue to be kidnapped until morale Cost of Living in Torn improves
I am saddened to see this post and more so that it has escaped me for months. Memory fails me as to whether CHunger was calling the shots at (Brotherhood of?) Nod or simply part of it but to me my time there and at Inquest blend into one. Corrections and additions welcome, it would've been the best part of two decades ago now... a lifetime really. Either way, good times. Chaining learned, flame wars ignited.
CHunger was definitely a character but I could never quite place exactly what type of character he was! That said, based on Sky's posted messages I'm pleased to see he hadn't changed :) As best as I can remember we had an #Inquest Channel on an IRC server? There are log files of mine somewhere on a, likely rusty, hard drive in an old PC. He was kind, shared a good sense of humour and offered solid leadership to us too.
Reading his obituary I am somehow not surprised by his exploits and antics. A life well lived from the looks of it.
I can't remember if I've posted this before but how many of those thousands do we think are just sitting in old inactive accounts, languishing? Or very casual players that aren't in the habit of reading the forums/haven't migrated to OC 2.0. The need for a Firewalk was a one-off way way back in early mission days and didn't make sense to code for years after Operation Firewalk was retired. I appreciate you see that as circulation being flat-ish but the depth has got to be incredibly misleading.
Saddest part is it doesn't even benefit the economy as a sink aside from market fees. OC creates cash as the 'faucet' -> Firewalk cash just goes to other players which still circulates. Virus gets consumed but since they weren't created as a result of a purchase from a Torn shop it doesn't change anything.
Also a problem for me to receive chats from at least two members of my own faction. I do use the "Decline chats from people you don't know" option. One chat I initiated with a message at 22:30, User 1 couldn't respond when they tried just after new day. User 2 couldn't initiate a chat despite being on my friends list. Once I sent a chat message they could chat to me. Again both are in my faction which I thought counts as "you know this person" regardless.
Could we add to the wishlist at some point: API selections for the new faction utilities armory, to see what is loaned to whom? Tidy right now but expect it to get messy in the future when folks leave OCs etc. after being given items. Goal being to match up what people currently need for OCs vs what they have loaned out. Assume also not feasible until the inventory changes mentioned are complete first. Thanks 👍
Most of these are really really old, dawg. Forget exactly when the refresh of the property images happened but I'm guessing that general policy wasn't in place at the time.
For this set of HAR files I didn't actually hit a temporary block until later on, in the ActuallyTempBlocked_www.torn.com_Archive [25-05-03 01-53-10] file. First saw the heavy network requests in www.torn.com_Archive [25-05-02 22-02-34] and www.torn.com_Archive [25-05-02 22-05-08]
Then disabled TornTools and Userscripts for TTandUserscriptsDisabled_www.torn.com_Archive [25-05-02 22-07-12] and TTandUserscriptsDisabled_www.torn.com_Archive [25-05-02 22-20-48]
Requests didn't seem to go wild on the Planning tab, just the recruiting tab. My OC is now in planning and haven't noticed any excessive requests since then, on either the Planning or Recruiting tab.
EDIT: Have just ended up temp blocked while on the Recruiting tab. My OC still in planning (not complete)
The time having any relation to the actual blocking might just be a red herring. I would say I tend to spend more time on the OC tabs around 9/10pm onwards, which would mean more uncontrolled HTTP requests.
Literally just sitting on the faction page right now, recruiting tab and the network tab is constantly doing a GET & POST in pairs as in the GIF. 1 second interval I think. No other Torn tabs open.
The change today is I am not getting blocked by Torn (and not seeing the "Failed to sync") Which is great... but I bet you don't want clients spamming requests like this.
I could not get this to happen earlier in the day with some limited attempts. Have to wonder if it is something time related? IDK how that would be.
I have some HAR files for you - any preferences on hosting them somewhere or getting them to you? webmaster@torn.com or something? I get the feeling I shouldn't be posting in public for that.
Spot checking the response body, both the GET & POST include success:true in the json. Nothing of note in the console.
Persisting through refreshes at the moment and starts as soon as the page loads.
