Let me tell you, in the 10 years I've played this game, There has only been a hand full of major down times. And only one major crash. Ched does host his own servers. I remember in the past having down times, allowing him to upgrade the hardware. I find it a surprise when the servers is down or slow. He's kept this this place running pretty well for the last decade.

I've worked for years to build my NB, I've lost my 45nb a dozen times over. And here I am, still at 45. It makes no sense on how people can maintain a 45 and when the update comes out, they automatically get the increase. There is really something wrong with the crime exp system if some who's got only 25k crimes has more crime exp than someone with 50k crimes. No way should anyone loss that much exp over 25k crimes.

Seems like a special milestone to me. Some type of award or special accommodation would seems befitting. Torn City Old Guard. Just making a suggestion ;)

This is my experience..
I recently gained 3 ranks. one from hitting 50k crimes and another for hitting level 71. The other had to be tied to networth. I was below 50k crimes and below level 71 before the networth change, but I didn't receive the networth rank when the update was issued. It didn't come until after I reached 50k crimes and/or got to level 71. I hit both right around the same time.
My brother who plays this game, had over 50k crimes and was under level 71 at the time the update came out. He had similar networth as me, but gained the extra rank right away after update was issued. Shortly after I reached 50k crimes and hit level 71 and gained that ranks, I received another rank upgrade. Which led me to believe that having the 50k crime rank trigger was a prerequisite to gaining that networth rank. Had it been a prerequisite to hit the level 71 rank trigger instead of the 50k crimes trigger, I'm sure my brother wouldn't have gotten it when the update was released. I'm pretty positive that the only reason why I didn't received the networth rank trigger when the updated was released like my brother did, was because I was under 50k crimes and hadn't gained that rank trigger yet. It seems to me that certain rank triggers are prerequisites to others.

Atleast that's my take on this.

Is says "Tracer" ammunition, but in my inventory I don't have any Tracer rounds, instead I've got some new Piercing rounds.

Looks like the benefit paid me out the wrong type of ammo.

When drugs were first introduced into this game, meth was included but quickly was taken out of the game when it became apparent of the dangerous side effect of the drug. Meth keeps you up for days, Torn had very little content back then.

It's just a habit now.

I spin them all. Why not. Worth the fun. On the 50k wheel, I've won a villa about 5-6 times now. The 1 million wheel is hit and miss for me. My bro won a PI not to long ago. So it's paid off for him. My only hope is that Ched finds something to do with all these "certificates" I've been getting.

Rarely do I agree with Todd, but you hit the nail on the head.

I like the idea of a player committee. Getting the players input on new content, but when it comes to the game rules and "code of conduct," that should be clear for all and not up for much debate. I think most of the players talking about this in here believe that the level of involvement they will possible have starts to get near RL level, where we governor ourselves. I'm sure Todd and may others remember the days of virtual lawlessness in this game. Ched didn't care what we were doing in the game or doing to each other. as along as we weren't exploiting any glitches, he was nowhere to be found. I don't think Ched would ever allow it to get back to that, It would literally turn in to RL in the game. You'd have battle lines drawn. sure they would be over abortion and guns. Just buy-mugs and peaceful factions.

I just think people are blowing this way out of proportion. Sure, some new changes will be coming. Players will have some input into some rules to determine how they may be implemented. There will be a lot of emphasis on the forums since a lot of players who spend time on this game spend in on the forums. (don't quote me I don't know the actual numbers.) Maybe more player input on how it should be moderated, but that's about.

To end this, I can say without a doubt this is the longer running game I'm still playing. This game is being set up to continue running far into the future. When I read Cheds post, i thought, "man he's been doing this along time. He wants to start taking a back seat and let his minors start running this. Why not? he's earned it. Maybe he takes on a project now and again to stay in the game, but largely everyone else makes the machine move. He's got that red button, (sole banning authority) so in the end, he's the man up top.

I don't expect a lot of change in the way of game rules. They've been largely hammered out over the decade.

Is it just me, or does Chedburn keep taking a bite out of the logo each year?

As someone who has followed the markets alot and have invested for several years. I give you this one piece of advise. Keep your money out of the market right now. Shits about to hit the fan. Historically the first year of a new Presidency is the worse year for the markets in that time period. Wait until next year. Use that time to study up. E-Trade offers free research and lessons.

I don't read the forums much these days, this the title did catch my eye.
To my knowledge, it's two clicks on hours in the city link itself, not the individual locations on the map. I could be wrong about this, they could have changed it at some point, in which case, ignore me.

Simply be active racing each day can get you alot of items. Because it causes you to keep going back to the city several times a day.

Someone updated the title "booster" to mean that you've used alot of stat enhancers.
I've got this title, and have only used 1 SE the entire time I've played this game.
The title "booster" is obtained by doing a high volume of thefts.

Too simplistic.

Back in the day, they said there would be "permanent consequences" for ODs. But in reality. losing 50 life wasn't anything to lose sleep over. I'm currently a SSL user myself. And ever since they installed the stat cap, IMO using drugs before you've hit the stat cap seems like a waste. And unless you can make the money to fuel your drug habit, you're better off shooting for the SSL membership. Probably better in the long run.

I've been holding BB's for years. I've got nearly 900 saved BB payout messages. Trust me when I say, it's all random. Except most payouts are paid after xx:48:00 of the hour.

Sometimes it will be weeks before you get a payout, other times I've received 7 properties in 6 days. Over the long haul, they average out to about one every 6-7 days. they are well worth the investment.
