To fully understand this tale I must give you a bit of background information. My husband on Torn and in real life is Munchmetal. He started playing over 10 years ago and  played for a short while before encouraging me and other family members to play. At it's peak there was around 15 family members and close friends playing Torn City as it was then. Obviously we formed our own faction and other players joined. Now it is just Munch and I with our two sons and one daughter. Our nephew and his wife also still play. He is co-leader of our faction with Munch. Last Tuesday our younger son was logged on when he received a PM from our nephew., our faction leader.He was on a brand new account He said he was at the house of a friend that had just started to play and was trying to help him. My son called Munchmetal who took over the PM What happened next is a bit vague but because he thought he was dealing with his nephew my stupid husband gave away his log on details Long story short he lost 9 billion in shares and our PI along with an assortment of DVDs ect. When he saw the wreckage his first thought should heave been to change all his password but instead he phoned the nephew and ask what had happened to his stuff. Our nephew was at work and had no time to talk except to point out that he thought that my husband was the victim of a scam. Munch's next mistake was to try to tell a staff member that he had been scammed. When he got a reply it was along the lines that scamming is not against the rules of Torn and that Munch had broken the rules by using his son's account. and put him in Federal Jail for 7 days for account sharing.
Soon it became evident that the scammer had used Munch's Facebook & e-mail accounts to try to con other family members into giving him log on details of current and old accounts. Fortunately no information was given , but it did flag up that he needed to change all his passwords ect. at last.
The one password that he couldn't change was his Torn account because he was in Federal Jail and to be fair he thought things were over
First thing this morning he tried to log on to his account but couldn't get in. He requested a new password but nothing arrived at his e-mail account.. Then to our amazement the scammer PMed our daughter from Munchmetals account. Only then did the penny drop. The bastard has completely stolen the account and was now posing as Munch to try for more "loot". Because we are married I was able to see at least a dozen palaces on the account which I guess had been stolen and were waiting to be moved on. As ever I tried to contact a staff member but no one was on line. But then I saw that Munchmetal was back in Federal Jail. This time awaiting a decision.I guessed this was due to unusual activity. I immediately wrote to a staff member explaining what had happened , and in time I got a reply saying that Much needed to explain in the report that is available to players in Federal Jail.
I wrote back that my husband can't access his account because it has been stolen and he can't log in.!!!! A message has now arrived from the staff asking me to tell Munch to contact the staff through support chat which is avabile on the log on page through the contact button. Only thing here is that he can't make it work ! He follows the instructions but the box just disappears. The staff say this is the only way to contact them.
Thanks for sticking with this tale of woe, the point of which is to draw the attention of the staff to my husbands position and to give a huge warning to everyone.I want you to know that as cleaver as you think you are if circumstances conspire against you the price you pay for being caught can be huge.
I can sense the fingers getting ready to hit the keys now... His own stupid fault .. He should have known better ect. Belive me we have had that conversation and it gets us nowhere.
Please be careful out there and if you are a staff member please give Munchmetal's case a look.

If the idea is to make a war more about the power and skill of the faction and not about how much money it can spend a better idea would be to allow anyone with the revive skill to revive themselves as well as others, in the same way you can bust yourself out of jail. The player would then have the choice to either use their energy to revive themselves of pay for a revive and use their energy in their war.
Surely this would add another dimension to war and still keep a demand for revive factions and contracts
This new system is a nightmare for anyone that has made a real effort to acquire and develop the reviving skill

I hope this isn't a silly question, but I'd like to set up a password protected poker game for my faction. Is this possible and if it is how do I do it please.

Thanks for your kind remarks It's just what I need at the moment. FYI Torn have already put him in Federal Jail for 7 days for account sharing because he took over from our son and got scammed. While we're talking about being thick as stuff you could have read all that in my original or further posts. Please read threads carefully before posting. It just makes you look a little silly. 

You are absolutely  right. I started this thread to draw attention to the injustice of loosing an account, but if it serves as a warning or reminder to anyone then that can't be bad. 

We have had this conversation with Torn. They have checked that we do not pass anything between our accounts and we play completely within the rules. Munch was Fedded the fist time because while reporting the scam he admitted using our son's account  to help our nephew, which wouldn't have been an offence in it's self because he lives miles away. Different IP. In short he got 7 days for account sharing.  

There is no doubt that Munch was stupid I've fulfilled my wifely duty and mentioned that a few times. The thing is now should he loose his account for ever for being stupid.? 

He can't access any way of speaking to the staff. He can't log on because the thief changed the e-mail and password and he can't make the Support chat work we guess because he is in Federal jail which has it's own report box that he can't access because he can't log on.  

I sense a bit of catch 22 here.  

The scammer got lucky. By pretending to be our faction leader he actually pretended to be our nephew. A close family member with a problem. Not an excuse...  but a pretty good reason.But this isn't about the scam It's about the injustice 

I can't argue with that... But I surely you don't deserve to loose a 10 year old account as well as all your stuff.

Why do you find it so hard to believe that a family can play and stay together. But that isn't the issue here It's the injustice of loosing everything to a scammer.
