WSSB insider-info thread: negative balances posted after money was removed

Champion [1927067] opened "WSSB insider info bulletin" in General Discussion on 04 Jan 2017. The opening post showed a result for Nash [1825532] with Money on hand: $-132,698,342,613 and noted that Nabisco had been removed from committee.^[1][2]

Champion alleged that insider abuse had produced huge profits, and asked what players thought of Ched finally doing something about it. Allegation^[1]

By the archive's last fetch the thread had 417 replies and 8,015 views. 134 different players posted in it, and 15 of the posts were written by Torn staff, officers or moderators.^[2]

Negative balances are listed

Harley [258120] replied the same day with a list of results and said it would be updated. Entries included Hank [1732212] at Money on hand: $-62,074,801,431 and BraveKath [1815519] at $-3,851,717,087.^[3]

Mat-Senpai [952164] started a separate thread, "WSSB aftermath", on 04 Jan 2017 to list affected players. dESTROYS [67441] later pointed to the first thread, writing that there was already a thread on the topic.^[4][5]

Mat-Senpai wrote that 450b+ had been removed from 18 people. Participant claim^[6]

Untouchable [1360035], listed as a Torn officer/committee, posted "Updated numbers, it's 573b taken now lol".^[7]

Admin bogie [148747] wrote that the people who had money deducted still won out, because money made afterwards was not removed, only the WSSB profit. Bogie also wrote that it was interesting the change was made retroactively rather than preventing such issues in the first place.^[8][9]

Denials, accusations and complaints

Naako [482424] wrote that they never once fed any information to slick. They wrote that Ched had leaked the WSSB change before the announcement, and that they were shocked to be taken off the committee. Participant claim^[10]

CindyFury [345050] alleged that 70bill went into the pocket of Nabisco's spouse during the WSSB climb, was later deducted, and that the money had been sent for Nabisco to invest. Allegation^[11]

Alexstrasza [1825532] wrote that the person who actually leaked the information received no financial punishment while the deduction fell on a spouse. They called this "an absolute crock of shit" and said they would make the money back. Participant claim^[12]

mug [553318], listed as a Torn officer/committee, alleged that SA was full of cheaters and that midknight gave out insider info to faction mates. Allegation^[14]

On 27 Jan 2019 CRLF [2095076] linked the thread in "F......king...Staff and Idiot staff" as a refresher on the "WSSB insider information investigation", and compared it to the MMCP situation.^[18][19]
