- The Torn Wiki warns that storing cash in someone's faction bank is a scam risk: if they refuse to return it, it is lost. It recommends banking on your own account or in a house vault. (documented; Scams › Faction bank scam, )
- When a faction is destroyed at zero respect, members are removed and all unloaned items, money and points go to the leader. This is the only documented case in these sources of vault money moving on a member's removal, and it goes to the leader, not the members. (documented; Faction/Patch History (4/7), )
- Bankers can send money from the vault to members. A staff member confirmed in 2023 that a vault payout was deducted but not received due to a missing transaction lock, and credited the funds. Players in 2020 suggested restricting bankers from transferring money to themselves and adding approval for withdrawal requests, which implies members request withdrawals from bankers. - Patch #67 (30/10/18) added faction member balances. Members with the relevant permissions see the money and points balance of all members in the 'Give to user' panel. - The wiki says the Give To User panel shows the money and points balance of every faction member to the leader, co-leader or anyone with 'Money Giving' and 'Points Giving' permission. - Leaders, co-leaders or those with Money Giving permission can give money to members from the vault. Leadership can also set any member's displayed balance to any value; this changes only the displayed balance and has no other effect. The payday feature does not affect balances.
