Meetup?

I just found the first player i've seen in my nearly two years that is in the same area as me. While i'm not terribly surprised, it makes me wonder if anyone has ever met another torn player irl or organized a regional torn player meet up.

I've heard of someone getting married after meeting irl. Don't know if it's true. If it is true...can we get an update? Still married?

honest there's a little of everything

i've known people to get married, i know people who've pretended to be female for years and to this day people still think they're a guy, i know people who've divorced and people who've gotten together for group events, i know people who've traveled places to meet one another just as friends and i know of one semi famous person who plays this game

there really is a wide number of people who play torn who do things which you wouldn't expect and after a number of years it doesn't really become surprising

OT to OP, yes people have met irl - i know the staff community do this and you could argue that hydr0 and clansy married through torn but i know of others who have also, i also know that bogie met with pixie in shanghai recently (if they kept up) and i myself have plans of meeting my hubby down in norway once my time at uni is over :)

as for meeting up with randoms, not a chance.. it'd be similar to a tumblr or 4chan gathering i can imagine

edit: who'd have though using "i know" so many times looks a little idiotic.

Alot of my Brothers friends play torn and i have talked to them before about torn, so i know quite a few who play(my hubby is actually a 45 minute drive from where i live), But i'd never go out of my way and meet anyone from torn for some event, i like to keep my game life and real life away from each other.

I have rl friends that play torn, but I haven't met actually someone in rl who happens to play torn. It would be quite the shocker. I always wonder how I would react if I saw someone randomly playing torn on their phone... I did find random people in torn that seem to have an IP similar to mine; I'd send then a msg and inquire about their whereabouts but they have not responded :/


I'd love to go to a torn meet/event if it was near where I live. I live next to Ottawa, right on the border or Québec/Ontario in Canada. Sadly, I don't think there are many people that play torn in around there.

I would do that again.

I drag some people from my old favourite forums.

We know each other like a family but rarely visit each other place.

Except me....."umm maybe" When I'm around that region.
I always find a spare moment to do that.

Its fun. I get some interesting tips/ hint concerning the area that I didn't know.

Some trader/ street merchant raise their initial price. Happen very often for me.

Yes there have been meetup's. I remember the old GB faction used to meet up.

Lol. I like how the majority says no. I can understand why: people playing this are from all ages and backgrounds. It would be kind of weird to meet people that you regularly mug and hospitalize, even if it's just a game.

O.o i would never meet with the vast majority of torn people...it would be hideously awkward, wouldnt go to a vidcon style meetup either. Still select peoplte I would meet though - I like suprising peeps with the fact im secretly a man...goes down a treat!

I heard a few of the guys met. I know Evil Duck drove miles to have a fight with one of the guys a while back but was stood up. lmao
