Back in the old days, you'd not go to war unless you had a good excuse, a Casus Belli. For instance that some guy from the other faction keeps mugging your guys. Because of insults in the forum. Because of...well... people got quite creative in coming up with CBs.
Does this still happen these days? Are there any wars being fought for a "real" reason, and not just for respect? And if they are, does the other side KNOW this?
Wars suck now. Ched took a vacuum to the fun in factions. Sucked all that shit out of warring.
you dirty bomb someone, they laugh at your waste of money, you attack them because you hate their guts they laugh because you waste energy while they can med out non-stop no problem.
There is no reason to protect yourself and fight back, there is no reason to attack other than to farm respect.
Warring is boring, all it is is farming respect with friends, the friends make it fun.
Boring shit for OP to read: 39th street kills vs wolf pack was probably the most recent war since forever with a reason. 39th's sub faction was fighting wolf pack's sub faction, things got outta hand wolf pack kicked everyone down to one member left in their sub faction and had the guy log off in SA so he was un-attackable. 39th's sub then declared on wolfpacks main and beat them up.
Yeah as mug said, very few wars have any meaning just now. I wouldn't even say that HoF wars have meaning as the warring system is changing soon anyway. And with the limit on how much respect you need to win a war, its hard to hurt a faction properly.
So it will be interesting to see how it changes in future.
jfa has had a couple wars where there were actual bad blood between members of the 2 factions, but overall yes, outside of trying to increase rank/respect warring is not as big of a deal as it will be once there is territory is involved and you have the ability to lose your territory if you lose a war.
Art of war and its glorious general jamesbond is the only one fighting for a reason atm. They are trying to restore their former glory and have attacked the likes of SA, DA and even JFK.
I'm sure there are factions out there that have bad blood toward each other and fight for more than just respect totals. I think that sitting down and writing a declaration of war citing your reasoning is taking it a bit far.
I disagree... doing those things and posting them in the forums creates a lot of extra fun (especially for those sitting and watching, enjoying the popcorn).
All that does is brings out the trolls who think they know what's going on and the thread gets derailed by people not even involved. Lots of bad blood out there and it usually stays between the 2 factions involved like it should. If you want to know what's going on then join the fight instead of talking shit on the sidelines.
It creates eye candy for the gawkers, but anyone in their right mind can tell you that creating animosity between factions that's beyond just competitive fun is quite mindless and boring, in fact. Not to mention, if you get trapped into that spiral of always going after someone, you won't progress as well as you could be.
Not to say that some people still don't like to throw out mails and try to rile up their opposition. In fact, I had quite the classic exchange with BiPolarBear just this morning. Doesn't mean it's for me to post here or for him to. We both know what the exchange was all about.
This thread made me remember an old war where my leader and the other leader hated eachothers guts.
I even remember fighting half of that war just in mexico we all wanted a safe place to log out for the night - and i remember our enemy losing and retreating to canada the further away location xP
Now a days you see people looking for peaceful factions afraid of the hospital and on top of peaceful they want free xanax... makes me throw up in my own mouth that torn is raising pussies these days.
I hope territory wars bring back the fun into this game.
Why don't you join a proper faction that wars. I really don't know what you been reading or doing.
There are many examples here were the faction forum as gotten heated up even passed boiling point. The recent one was obviously WPNG and Born fighting.
I don't think your recruiting right if you say most people want peaceful factions. Warring faction ain't for everyone and that should be respected. All you go on is about this is boring, if you want a proper war for your faction size look around and you will be surprised how many people will accept. Better still why don't you and wallongong guest for warring factions or simply merge and actually fight.
I think a faction that would get beat down by their sub isn't a proper faction :)
pretty random attack on my faction, recruitment, and way of playing the game... i was talking about compared to the past current warring not as fun - even the big wars are not as intense as small wars of the past.
I really don't know what you are doing... but it was pretty douchey :)
I aint having a rant at your faction. Every war system as its good and bad points. The last warring system there was alot of Peaceful factions, the few that warred got extortion and got held to ransom. There was a lot of complaining then as there is alot of complaining now. You get the filler faction complaining moaning to you to pick on someone your own size, but what everyone needs to understand is that majority of factions dont pick on their sizes as its not always possible. Everyone beats down on someone that's just how it is. At least in this system you declare and you claim once its over there is another 30 days if u dont like the faction u keep beating them down.
When Territory comes it will be the same thing after all the hype is gone, every faction as the maximum limit they can go. Once it settles and everyone knows their place factions will go quite again to train their stats so they can beat the faction on top of them.
Once again your talking about things you know nothing about. I remember when Calculated started your faction had good upgrades at the time much better than Calculated but now look where we are now. If anything Calc factions have bought some fun here, You dont need to involve yourself with our affairs instead concentrate on improving your faction. Maybe if you stop swearing all the time you might have luck with recruitments. Your making statements that are not true talking about people are afraid of hospital, Look at nubs in Calculative, BF, WPNG, Equalizer, Devious, Xiabala just the few I can think off they get used as fillers all the time. They have hard life but will all need to start somewhere.
Warring itself gets boring cos its the same faction that keeps warring eachother, there is simply not enough quality factions around. It hasnt helped with the likes of Vienerri, Vegas, HT, EVO going sleeping mode along with ELF and EM selling up. I am not surprised HOF factions get bored its same old wars and same outcome so what do u expect. Calculated, MM, JFA, Untouchables, Vulpes, we have all warred each other at least once. It takes alot of stats and resources to get to the big boys.. Calculating are now in a position they just by themselves in order to have good wars they will need to start training hard but if those other factions are also training the gap wont get closed anytime soon.
There needs to be more factions in the game to make it more competitive.. in my opinion I seriously think Ched should look at the possibilities of 50 man capped factions cos 100 is just too much. Even if it means alot turn out as sub but at least we will be getting treated to different wars regularly rather than same factions keep going on at it.

Not much point, If it did get reduced everyone would just jump around at war time. I know Calc guys don't hop around but others do already if the cap was reduced then the hopping around would just increase
Coupled with a faction hopping penalty, it could. It would have to be something pretty drastic, like not being able to join more than one faction every 30 days or something.
