Every time in switz, revive one less. This means if u need to revive 6 times to get 100% reduction, rehab 5 times and let the remaining addiction be.
My calculation for this is
Suppose 1 xanax gives 100 addiction points and 1 rehab cures 100 addiction points. This is basic without any herm upgrade.
So after 9 xanax, without herm upgrade, I will have 900 addiction points. Let this be the point at which rehab is absolutely necessary.
At herm 9, say I can take 15 xanax before I need to revive. So each Xanax at this point is giving me about 60 addiction points.
Suppose I go rehabbing after 12 xanax, I have 720 addiction points, so system will show 8 rehabs for 100% reduction. But in general, I can rehab 7 times and keep 20 reduction points which will not impact me too much.
The reduction given by 1 xanax will be different for different herm upgrades, but the breaking point for rehabbing will be the same.
Best thing to do for new players would be to hit the switz button the moment slight addiction icon shows up and then rehab one less.
I have used this simple trick for a while, not sure how much its worth for but I think it is working. Please share your views on the same.
yes if, no OD is happening. addiction from 9 xanax without hermatic is exactly equal to addiction from 15 xanax at herm 9. and if addiction in both the scenarios above are at breaking point.
It will work if you do it consistently, since the method ensures you don't use rehab for a possibly minimal addiction the last time you push the button. Especially if you can't take more drugs before day change for one reason or another, in which case the Hermetic effect would be wasted since your addiction would already be zero. I might start doing this.
You shouldnt be doing that.. That way your rehab cost will start increasing very soon. Also if you take limited number of xanax, natural decay of addiction will take care of it.
Is there any actual proof that this method is cheaper? I understand the concept that less rehab is wasted when it's not necessary but there's a lot of suppose and not enough lab results. My biggest problem with this concept is the assumption that the rate of decay is constant. I regularly go to -6% on stats before I rehab. What I've found when I'm 0% stats reduction I can take a fair amount of xanax before it hits -1%. Then at -1% and -2% I can generally take 3-5 xanax before stats reduce (or the brain shows addiction to another level). However at 3%-5% I can generally only take 1-2 xanax before stats get reduced and addiction is increased. My general point with very generalized observations suggest that rate of decay on addiction is increased when you have more xanax in your system. If that's the case then staying addicted will lead to long term higher rehab costs or neutralized cost because some time you would be getting an advantage and some times you would actually be hurting yourself.
The other factor which I think has less impact but is still not proven (at least not in this thread but maybe in others) is the percentage reduction on each individual rehab. Last rehab I had to rehab 4x here were the percentages that I got 25%, 34%, 50% and 100%. This would suggest the rate of rehab is constant but this is only one set of observations.
this will work irrespective of the addiction caused by xanax or any other drugs..
I will try to explain using imaginary numbers for simplicity.
suppose 1 xanax gives you 100 addiction points without and herm factor included and 1 rehab reduces 100 addiction points. also suppose 1200 addiction points it the breakeven point where u will get kicked out of education. now with herm 1, suppose u get 95 addiction points. So after 12 xanax you will have 1140 addiction points. In this situation when you rehab 100%, you are actually paying for 1200 addiction points reduction and buying 1140 addiction points reduction.
by changing the rehabbing pattern slightly if u rehab 11 times, you will be left with 40 addiction points which is very negligible.
Now considering the varying levels of addiction by xanax, depending on your current addiction level, if you rehab frequently, you will not have to worry about higher levels of addictions because as you said, at low levels of addiction, addiction increase is slow.
I would like to see Bogie weigh in on this. As far as i have read from old forums you take the maximum amount of xanax you can for your herm then rehab all the way. The more times you go to rehab i.e. taking 15 xanax instead of 26 at Herm X the higher your rehab will get. Anyone can take a certain amount of Xanax over a long time waiting for natural decay for a cheaper rehab bill but the stats will suffer.
P.S. Tried to find the info in old forums but last time i checked it took me days. anyone that is interested can search under rehab decay and rehab costs here http://www.torn.com/old_forums.php
Could not find any of the old data and as yet decay has not been 100% confirmed only tested by players themselves. If i do only rehab to 90% that would mean i can take less xanax then next time i rehab meaning ill always have to take less then the Herm upgrade would allow. So far for my xanax usage compared to other people my rehab is quite good so the system of taking max then rehabbing is working for me.
I don't understand why the method would not work. As far as I know the amount of addiction gained is a set value, as is the amount of addiction lost through natural decay, hermetic and per rehab session. Addiction gained and lost are influenced by your hermetic but the value is set for that specific level. Following that logic it would be more expensive to rehab more often only if you rehab until you have lost all your addiction, thus partially wasting more rehab sessions. If you always rehab fully it would be better to rehab less frequently, though. Also you should be sure to always have enough addiction to fully utilize natural decay and hermetic. In practise it will probably be hard to see the difference, but following this method it should take a little bit longer until you reach the next level of rehab decay.
It will work if all your assumptions ate true. 1. Amount of addiction gained per xanax 2. Addiction lost through decay 3. Addiction lost through rehab 4. Addiction reduction through herm
However with the new introduction of decay, it might not be constant. It might be the less addicted you are, the faster the natural decay.
i never wanted to set a timing for rehab.. its up to individuals and their needs as to when they rehab. All i want to say that under all circumstances.. rehabbing one less will save you some monies in the long run.
This is for two reasons, first, you will always use natural decay to loose some addiction no matter how huge or less it might be, second, you will not pay extra for rehabbing which might happen if you rehab 100%( which i tried to explain in the earlier post using numbers)
I think the biggest problem I have is your made up numbers. I can say that each xanax is worth double the last one so even one or two extra xanax will lead to the need to rehab more total times but my numbers are made up too. In the long run I'm guessing this argument really only matters to those who have a low herm because higher herms will far out weigh weather your rehabbing one to six xanax.
