If you're having a resistance problem, you can always extend the length of the coil by soldering two together and tightening the coil. Longer length= more resistance.

That was my original problem... factory bought ones were stamped with 1.8ohms...but I was measuring 1.3 to 2.2... my homemade single's are coming in at 1.6 to 1.9...

So guys, i just got the new Kangertech Subox white! It is awesome! It is a 50w VW, it comes with the subtank with the the coil deck, or the rebuildable deck. it was $90 and worth every penny! works better than most mods i've used and had a much smoother, cooler hit. They are on backorder, but i would advise getting one when you're ready to upgrade. You will only need a 18650 battery, but it has an internal charger so you dont have to buy one. it is pretty damn cool

Glad you like it. I've heard a lot of people digging that little guy. Just like with any MOD capable of internal charging, I'd still recommended taking the cell out and charging on a charger. To each his own though.

they say they are real ones.. but i doubt they all were.. the ones i have now are working great.. i just have to watch where i buy them i guess

I read an article in a vaping Magazine the other week saying how some coils have a "break in period". Were they will half ass fire for a while or taste burnt until they are used for a while. they suggested to put a little juice in the coil, then fire it and blow on it like you would a dripper, you just have to do it without the tank obviously. Its worked for me, Maybe try that if you get a dud. They said some are duds just from manufacturing defects, but 8/10 just need a little breaking in.

The problem with tanks is that people arent priming them properly. You need to juice the wicking material a bit then install your tank and let it sit for a min or 2. Also it doesnt hurt to close or block any air holes then suck on the tank without applying power. This helps draw juice through the wick. If you have a regulated mod, start it at a lower power to allow the coil to break in slightly
and draw more juice toward it. Then you can ramp your power up to the normal setting. This has saved me alot of money on coils since I run some of the bigger subohm tanks at anywhere from 70W-100W. Also these instructions are detailed on most of the newer tank owners manuals.

the problem i run into is the coils wont wick fast enuf. even useing 50/50 e liquid i have issues with some coils...ive primed them and have let them sit for hours.. i get 2 good pulls then its burnt.. im guessing that the bad ones clone coils.. they have the .3 ohm coils out now for teh atlantis.. and they work alot better than the .5.. havent had a bad .3 yet.

anyone tried cleaning tank coils? im thinking of getting an ultrasonic cleaner. heard they can extend a coils life.
also think i will be buying the aspire triton when its out. it looks like it will be awsome. cant wait to see grim green review it.
