Ched: To be honest, this is another of a string of immediate disappointments in this game, Elimination Competition was released early so what, why does everything have to be controlled. would of been fun to fly by the seat of your pants for once.
Surprize is the only thing that makes this game interesting and unique, this surprize was one of the best since playing the game (although cut short) as in excitement of potential city finds and new game ideas, grow a pair and rerelease as is immediately, and let the cards fall where they may, I believe the players choosing cross faction teams is the greatest idea since the start of the game,
Hats off to you and the team, it might actually work right now, to really rekindle the light of excitement in the game ( I know it did for me), including all the Hall of Fame (HOF) factions leaders and players long dormant (which this did for a very limited time 24 hours)!
Stop putting out the candle when chance and fate gives you an opportunity to fly....let freedom reign and lets have Torn Elimination Teams Unleashed again immediately...you have nothing to lose as you still control the start of the competition and this gives everyone time enough (less then a month) to really prepare a fun time for their teams for this Competition to start on September 5th as you posted Hoorah all the best as always...players do not come to this game to be controlled, they come here to release and enjoy...

Excited as hell for this. I spent 3 hours recruiting, organizing, and theory crafting this morning for this shit. f**k this all, why the hell do I ever f**king bother?
... which is exactly what is wrong with this competition - no matter what devs do to try to balance it up players will still go against the spirit of the competition by trying to stack a team in a effort to get the odds in their favour.
I wasn't stacking anything, I was trying to find more info about how the competition would actually function, brainstorm with my team how to win, and help noobs so they wouldn't be easy targets and in the hospital all month long. All in all, time and effort that was ultimately wasted because Chedburn messed up.
What did you do? Sit on your ass after you joined a team?
Damn you have it all figured out - I'm totally the type to sit on my arse and let everyone else do all the work so I can leech in a competition.
From what you wrote above it sounded like you were actively recruiting with the aim of stacking a team as has happened in every single world war in the past - if that wasn't the impression you were intending to convey then I apologise for mis-interpreting your post.
Fair point about stacking teams, but the 4 teams of 12 option system should have limited that garbage.
The only people I tried to recruit were friends and acquaintances that would make the contest more fun for me and that would actually be active participants in the team forums. I didn't go around trying to snag the heavy hitters. I messaged many people on my friends list and told them which team I would be joining and to come join the team I was on if they had the option to do so. Many people did NOT even have my team as an option.
This still wasted a considerable amount of time, along with theorycrafting how the match would actually go, looking through the old newsletter emails for more information, devising ways to get people motivated, and targeting low level players for individual advice so they don't hold us back.
After all I have done, and I'm sure I wasn't the only one and part of the only team who spent time doing the same, do we have no right to be at least a little upset at Chedburn pulling this competition?
Yes, Chedburn f**ked up in a major way and people have the right to be upset, the decision should have been made much earlier. But the event itself is so big that it's probably for the better if this ensures that it will be as fair as possible.
Looks like there was a real love fest going on in the mountain men camp! Unsurprisingly it was all men. Maybe the real reason this competition was pulled was staff saw this and realized that they needed to code in lube especially for the mountain men!
I know there was plenty of stacking of players on teams but what if you sign up for the event and you don't know which team you are on until the event starts? The down side to this would be you can not play with friends or faction members unless it is the luck of the draw. The question is would you still sign up?
