It became obvious to me when sugarvalves wrote that article claiming to have gained access to Duke's mailbox.
I think it's him because sugarbabes joining as a "creative writer" seemed to coincide with Duke being a bit more interactive. I don't know for sure. I don't need any more evidence, my theory is rock-solid.
I'm not sure that everything they're doing is "fair", but sugarknobs writing is sometimes quite interesting and that poncy git makes me laugh sometimes and want to punch him in the face others. Duke is certainly stirring up drama. I think it's a good thing.

Duke's real name is [real name removed] Calabrese, but if you call him this he'll push your face through a plate glass window. And if there isn't one nearby, he'll drag you to one.
I agree with this. I never understood why there are rules against flaming and trolling but its ok to hack into mainframes, burn places down, do a little drive-by, transport some drugs, kidnap kids and mayors and on and on and on.... I mean what could go wrong? I am sure real life gangstas flame the hell out of each other. Someone start a suggestion thread!
Its simple flame the hell out of others and if staff say anything use the defence, that staff themselves do it, so why can't players!
Ultimately Duke is being controlled by a member of staff and the way he communicates to players should be seen as acceptable conduct!

People are so pissed. Even bringing the age rating into it haha. Lets be fair if the game was 18+ everyone would still be mad.
But hell its a game. Him hosping some people ONE TIME A DAY isnt a big deal. Its one time. Hes reacting like a real loan shark or any organised crime boss would against an enemy. About the parkinsons joke though, Duke is supposed to be a seedy violent loan shark I.E no morals so dont get so damn butt hurt over it people its a character on a fricken game.
Personally i love reading these threads. they are always entertaining and when he pops up to slam people its always hilarious and in character.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the amount of money BB has managed to mug from Duke. He's getting like 50-100m every day since Duke was introduced. In total that will have amounted to 20b+.
As the only guy (other than inactive Sif) who can comfortably beat Duke solo, that's a personal gold mine.
Getting your employees nagged a bit sounds like tiny sacrifice for all the money that he is receiving.

(I joined into his attack, when I needed the Duke mission done and I got blacklisted, hosp and mugged for apparently attempting to 'steal' his daily mug.)

Ah yes the don't steal my Duke mug message, several Vulpes have received this as well. Seems impressively whiny to me but what do I know.
I think with that taken into account, Duke turning on BB is fair enough.
If he really has taken $20b from Duke since his introduction then surely some backfire is expected? Otherwise it is just feeding an unending stream of cash into the economy in a way that doesn't benefit the wider player base.
Jesus that really has to stop if true, holy f**k. Make it so Duke goes to Caymans or has an unlimited vault or so, this is just the rich getting richer, ridiculous.
I've reiterated several times that Duke isn't controlled by me, as much as I wish he was. I've not been here long enough to be allowed to play with him, which is a shame, but someone was already pencilled in for that role before I joined.
If a staff member has told you I'm Duke they're either lying, you're lying, or someone is misinformed. I think this came about from when I was being bountied a lot, and it stopped me being able to actually do my job in-game. I'm able to drop a message to the person controlling Duke and enact revenge that way if I need to lose the heat briefly, and as for having a look in his inbox, that was a dev who kindly exported it all so I could trawl through everything.
I do wholeheartedly approve of everything he's doing though.
I'm pretty sure I read in one of the previous newsletters that you wrote the mission dialogues for Duke.
And since Duke is writing in the same manner in the forum as in the mission dialogues..... well, we can make our own conclusions.
That still requires ~10 attacks on him a day, which would be equivalent to mugging 10 people for 5m. Hardly an issue, surely?
