    The concern is more to put the squeeze on players to log in at times they may not want to. Like on a holiday. Something like Torniversary is fine...but I can't tell you how many games I've been turned off …

    It is a good way to get people to stick around, if there are rewards for logging on at least on big holidays if not days that hold significance to Torn, even if they are random to most people.

All this free swag....I don't mind actually since it rewards daily players, but just wondering if it's the right way to go.

Well that's one way to get the merit for a server rollback as we all crash the server trying to get on for that one, fail and get the other when it has to be rolled back.

It is a good way to get people to stick around, if there are rewards for logging on at least on big holidays if not days that hold significance to Torn, even if they are random to most people.

I think that's cool. Honorbars are only getting better with time so having 2 more awesome honorbars won't get me nowhere near complaining!

You literally have to log in once on that day in your entire Torn Career. I would hardly classify that as putting any pressure on anybody

will gladly accept the free effortless merits..

but would have preferred if there was some sort of task/mission to get these instead of just logging in.

So you want some noobs to sit around for a year waiting for a merit they may or may not get depending on irl? Because they missed it?

Thats the wrong direction to go for any game. Its nothing but a cheap gimmick.

"cheap gimmick"? Torn's full of time wasting stupidness, you can stick to the deep and meaningful, full of substance merits if you like and boycott Torn on the 15th.

This isn't some login 7 days in a row to get crap thing. It's literally login once one day which you can do with 1 click on your PC or phone...
