Staffing changes

Any shread of hope that this next batch of staff will be even slightly less corrupt than the last is decimated after this. I guess I was right: You cannot have unbiased or trustworthy staff that also play. It cannot be done, no matter how many times they say otherwise.

if that were the case then no rules would be agreed on; given the kindgergarten status some of the members from top factions have , i would strongly consider leaving you all to play alone :D

Never thought i'd say this about one admin who fedded me unfairly and another who perm forum banned me.

It seems to me that if any player has an issue with any staff member, there are mechanisms to do so. To call up decisions made by an Admin before that Admin stood down and suggesting the person now fulfilling the role may not review anything seems an interesting stance.

The OP is making the Torn community aware of a degree of unhappiness with the changes being made. Veiled accusations on current or returning staff is not incredibly awareness raising in any other sense.

As is always the case and always has been - the selection of staff ultimately sits with Admins. The process for doing so is not entirely the same as it was previously and so the OP is no better informed than the rest of us as to how or why people are selected.

Staff that has been caught as removed previously for giving account details to others....being reinstated as staff? that's ridiculous. Be like "we need ateacher who half knows about the school because we lost a bunch of teachers" u don't hire a pedo that just got fired back just cause you're desperate ~.~

Maybe details have been aluded to and have been exaggerated and wasn't as bad as it sounds but just because they were once staff doesn't mean they will be good staff.

Hope this isn't true and hope midnight stays fedded for trying to use committee for personal gain. there are some positions that if abused should be dealt with in the most extreme ways just to deter others from abusing that posts in the future.



Edit: read cheds post and glad to hear the person is at least on a tighter leash. Still a bit worried but it's just a game....that ive put a lot of cash into ~.~ hope huge changes don't mess with stuff to much.

I don't think OP is saying otherwise, I think he's calling into question how someone with the current history that they have could possibly be re-hired.

So, let's hope that staff member is kept on a short leash now. And let's hope fewer people are banned and fedded and some return. And then we can play the game instead of having discussions on rules and principles.

I'd like to see an announcement stating who is becoming staff and maybe something about them. I don't think people should have things held against them forever if they stepped out of line once or twice in the past. It all has to do with why they want to be staff now.

Unless someone was secretly promoted to admin, then the only acting admin would be ched or a dev-- which is precisely what Marc is saying. Moreover, it's entirely beside the point.

How come a staff member who abused their powers become staff again! They used their power to give access to someone who wasn't the real owner of the account!

What's gonna happen if a staff member in the future gives access of old inactive accounts who are quite rich to their friends, they could transfer the money later on and get stronger on game... Apparently even if you do that, you can still become a staff

As for those who are saying that this is a problem that should be discussed within staff, Ched said he wants to discuss more the game stuff with community. I'm glad Marc made this topic. I wanna know what shady stuff staff do, and how they get away with it. Saying that this should be talked only on staff, would just cover staff wrongdoings

...Isn't there some way to...idk, prove that this guy did this action? I mean, all we have is words...are there logs, it's not like anyone here actually has access to a evidence locker, only the filter which is the staff.
