Everyone else greatly effected by WSSBGate has spoken and pleaded their case. For me this is the first opportunity i've had to sit down in front of a computer for a few hours and actually explain the concepts involved in stock trading billions of dollars. Ched is pumping out the myths about an upward trend caused by insider trading at the moment to cover his own ass, and that of the his developers who tweaked the WSSB pattern. There is a lot of myths around in how the stock market actually works so i'll do my best to explain it, based on the experience and knowledge i've gained since 2014.

1. Stock Patterns are reasonable predictable, they all follow a basic wave style pattern. Like the below:

Generally a stock has a peak and trough price range, the frequency that a stock reaches these price points is determined by the formula, some stocks like ELBT have a 3 day cycle between high and low range pricing and pig backs onto a different pattern which shifts the peak and trough price range higher and lower over a greater period of time.

Low Frequency stocks are ones like EVL, WSSB, YAZ, IIL, PRN have a more long time cycle of 4-6 years. That is can be under a 100 per share at the trough, but at the peak be over 2000 per share. How the exact numbers is determined is unknown to me, and i'm sure there is a some additional formulas and random factors thrown in to try and mask the system. I'm sure these Low Frequency stock patterns will be confirmed in the coming years, unless the system is changed.

2. Stocks trends are not caused by buying or selling activity. They follow a basic pattern described above, and the forecast basically indicates the acceleration of the price, over an undefined period. Look at IIL graph (generated from API data we collect).

Mid October the stock is worth $140 per share, and there is around 1.5b shares available. Fast forward to today the stock price is around $65 per share, and there is over 6b shares available.

So how can an upward trend in stock price be caused by player manipulation? It cant Ched built this system so player interaction with the system COULDN'T affect the stock pricing, unless in extreme circumstances eg Dirty Bomb.

3. "The performance of this stock relies upon the amount of people in jail." - These stock description comments are misleading, i've found them to be completely unreliable over the years and should be discarded when making a decision on whether to invest in a stock or not. Here is the proof why they don't correlate.

So over a 3 year period we have had an increase of jailings of 25-30%, yet the stock price remains exactly the same. Co-incidence, I think not.

4. WSSB Stock trend was manipulated by a developer. Ched can confirm, but I might of been the first to invest a large amount of cash in WSSB, I initially purchased 10b worth of WSSB shares at 69.xx per share. This was because it had shifted in price upwards by 4% in the last 24 hours, and Ched/Developers had tweaked the shares. Ched releases snippets of information all the time on his posts, its why I have him on my friends list so i can get a feed of the leaks as such. From the bug report It was determined that the benefit was removed, and the stock was displaying a stock trend of moving up 3-4% in 24 hours that it hadn't done since its last peak in 2013. Yes the investment was speculative, but it was researched. Its not like i put my entire networth on the line, I invested 10b initially in it, and put in a further 30b when the price was at 120 per share, and I had profits on the 1st 10b of nearly 100% in a short time. So it was a no brainer to go all in on this stock with as much capital as i could get together.

In Relentless we often share tips and discuss stocks and faction chat. It was pretty clear after a few days that WSSB was a winner, so many from our faction invested during the window. With bank interest being so shitty, it was easy for many to shift 2b bank accounts and savings into WSSB, and it paid dividends initially....

5. WSSB profits were not a quick flip. Nash and I made the conscience decision once the WSSB special change was announced on the bulletin by Chedburn that the special couldn't be worth a mere 150m. We thought a price of 350-500 per share is more likely so made the decision to hold the stock for several months until mid/late September when the price was settled and sold out at around $430 per share. Yet because we invested in the "insider window" we have lost not only the profits from that period, but the profits generated months later. Everyone else who invested outside of this small window gets to keep their profits, yet for us it makes playing this game so much harder due to these new debt hurdles we have to jump through.

6. Ched & his Kangaroo Court decision. Ched has made a decision that impacts a heap of high profile players significantly simply because he can. He has no evidence that any wrong doing occurred but as a way of pleasing everyone else he penalizes the minority for the full amount. If people are not guilty of an offence, there is no court in the world that would order that the funds be recovered without a prosecution into a group or individuals. His investigation was so complete and thorough that he didn't even ask the players involved for an explanation as to the events which led them to investing.

7. Guilty by Association. Chedburn to Howsthat "Hello, Yep, I just don't trust that faction you're in. Really shady from what I've been looking at today. Sorry.". As a result of Howsthat being in Relentless he is stripped of being on the committee. Its becoming pretty clear why certain factions are not represented on the committee/staff as heavily as others due to bias from admins. Innocent until proven guilty? yeah not on Torn.

I think its pretty clear from the above that Ched took the popular approach to dealing with this issue, rather than the correct and fair one.

I didn't read all that but i doubt anyone in here has any sympathy for you or your little bitch faction of script abusers.

Yep, WSSB was a big mess and it's impossible to determine what actually happened in full. That's why that period was simply reversed, so any profits made in this window are nullified! The only alternative is asking the people who invested in it, and taking them at their word, and then just letting them keep the XX billions?

For example, I could have asked you for an explanation - but you were in the committee at the time and started buying shares the day after I posted that thread - you should have known better or at least declared your intentions - you can imagine how it must look to me and the public. There are far too many variables and unknowns for me to take the best case scenario, that's why everything was just reversed - to ensure no possible profit was made from any insider information.

Honestly, you probably know the stock market system better than I do now. But the vast majority of the public made it clear that they wanted something done about this, if there was even any chance of any insider trading. So I took the best option possible.

>>Guilty by association

Yes I'm taking zero chances. As what is expected from me.

Didn't Lex Luther say that to (the psyhic kid) Ryan on Smallville? And in response the kid says...remember that Lex.
mug [553318] Committee Committee

obviously he handled it like shit.

look at nabisco using slicks funds still to continue abusing those ill gains. refuses to answer me about it.

and bravekath using either hank or nash's money to invest with. remove the actual money.

If there is evidence worthy of money deduction, it is worthy of Fed.

If there isn't enough evidence for Fed, there isn't enough for money deduction.
AshleyT [1432316]

Well why not reverse it properly instead of just taking the money from their hand, especially if they were not actually guilty of wrongdoing...

Just saying, the way you handled it, while thorough, was also just as messy as whatever caused this.

I am sure you could have reversed all purchases, sales, and value changes of the stocks.
Naako [482424]

This is just BS.

You never took money away from JFK when they made their masses in the stock market.

You never took money from JFK when their staff members manipulated the bookies.

And yet there is proof the good stock investors could have had a clue WSSB was going to spike and yet you take money away. If you are a smart investor it was pretty easy to see WSSB was going to spike atleast somewhat after YOU leaked it would change. Then like Hank said. When the new benefit was released its easy to guess a price it would go to.

Wirse to me is you kicked people off the committee as a guess they broke a rule.

I believe Hank is telling the truth on this, is honest to the core is my experience (his word is his bond), and is quite thoughtful and intelligent in his manner of playing the game for himself and as a leader as an example for all the great factions he created in the game. In addition, the incredible amount of real statistics he uses in many aspects of the game (stats, stocks, factions, items, etc) brings me to this conclusion and not lightly as those truly violating Torn insider trading rules, honor the man and his word in this case, it is rare.
