Well when I started torn I was not very busy... had been looking for a game like this for over 2 years and when I find it... of course I get busy. I am 100% sure some people who play this game serious also have uni or a job that takes up your life. How do you guys manage playing torn (I find it extremely fun!) and getting all of your work done?
Recently I have only logged on once to twice a day to fly because I need to get work done... however I end up slacking off doing something else.... anyone have any recommendations on what I should do? I would like to play torn serious however... school.
If you are confused on what I just wrote feel free to say below... I am so tired I can't think so I decided to write this forum thread ;)
You don't have to be on torn 24/7 to "succeed" at the game, just logging in for max 5 min a few times a day should do the job, and I'm hoping you do have that amount of time left in your day besides school and/or work :')
Other than that, school is way more important than Torn, so pls do not replace those two with each other should u rly have no time left
I work two jobs and have college at night. I've been playing for some weeks now, and really got into it. You don't have to stay on all day. I generally spend the day traveling, using an alarm to know when I'll land somewhere so I can do whatever I gotta do and fly back and get back to work, and when I know I'll have some free time, I time my landing so I can do stuff around Torn.
You can play in your phone too, so you don't exactly have to be using a computer.
now it is easy with smart phone and internet. You need login just for few mins for use energy and nerve and when you can back to work. When I work I login in torn when I go smoke (2 jobs same time) :D
And when you have free time you can login for longer time and chat in forums or chats.
Just purchase City Watch from the Points Building and download it, set reminders for full E/N or set custom ones of your choosing and do your projects or revise and when the sound pops up have a break.
Like others have said there's no need to be on 24/7, City Watch is a great tool to use as it sounds each time you get a message, event or reach a certain level of energy or nerve and when you reach your destination when flying.
Real life commitments are more important! Good luck with your exams!
I have high school then go work a job. Usually I'll check torn during class (my school isn't strict on phones) or I'll check it at work while I'm dropping a log. Soon I'll be in the marines so I wonder how that will affect it
The thing that makes Torn a game which most of us get really into it is because we don't have to be active 24/7 to grow or get stronger.
it ain't like online games 10+ years ago where most MMORPG's require you to dedicate hours of grinding or you'll get left behind.
Prioritize your real life commitments first and use Torn as sort of an escape of real life for a brief moment. When you got time to spare and are waiting on cool downs head down to the forums and catch up on some good old Torn Drama a.k.a. Whining threads hahaha
one perk of the game, (which also is kind of a downside, but in this instance, we'll call it a perk), is that you're nerve/energy fill up in 5 hours. That fluctuates a little, depending on donator status and nerve bar. Generally, though, you can get away with logging in at 5 hour intervals, outside of sleep of course, and not really lose ground, as far as energy/nerve usage.
