It does matter i think. I lost a portion of my net worth and that said net worth come in part from donating.
The game gets pissed off if real money is stolen from them right? Well its sort of like the game stole real money from me.
The money scammed is money taken out of circulation in the game, in other words its money back to the game like a cash dump/casino.

Who knows if someone is using duke to fund there accounts? I noticed duke made some deal with a faction over this so.......... money stolen then favors done to factions..... People are benefiting from this or so it seems. He could have kept the money on hand and allowed the top players to mug the shit out of him. I dont know? A few days ago duke was just an NPC in my eyes.

As to what to expect from duke. Yes i agree and will from now on. I dont trust that prick one bit now.

Ultimately Ched is the one who decides how the rules should be interpreted. And regarding Duke he hasn't said much, but he did once say "don't drag me into this" or something like that. So Duke is a rogue agent, and you're right that you can't know that by reading the rules for instance. That's how the game works, there is no walk-through guide.

As for how we knew not to trust him:

In Duke's original thread the first three pages had thirteen posts either saying outright that it is a scam or suggesting that they thought it was too good to be true. Most of the other posts were saying 'is this true?' or saying that something like that would destroy the game. It should have been obvious to everyone.

Honestly, if you want stand and wave your idiot flag and fight the fight for idiot rights, go for it. But all people are going to take away from it is that you're an idiot.
