[Captcha] Captcha Fatigue: Thoughts, is this really necessary or do the settings just need to be setup better

Thoughts, Cloudflare Firewall Captcha, and on being tired of clicking on street signs, cars and mountains, all the time, just to play during the game at all continuously challenged.

In two words, fix it...cannot post a single image or video without completing these over and over again

[image: images.duckduckgo.com]click, click, click., fake egg, repeat...over and over

Torn appears to use the default Cloudflare challenge page,if Torn uses a paid plan there are options to customize the following error pages:
  • IP/Country Block
  • WAF Block
  • 500 Class Errors
  • Enable Origin Error Pages
  • 1000 Class Errors
  • Always Online Error
  • Basic Security Challenge
  • WAF Challenge
  • Country Challenge
  • I'm Under Attack Mode Challenge
Also in the firewall section you can also change how often the CAPTCHA will appear (5 min up to 1 year).

I t also appears that the CAPTCHA response is saved per domain (likely using a cookie), and completing a challenge will allow access to that domain and all sub-domains. Also the Torn challenge page may be displayed to the user with a 403 Forbidden response code which can cause issues with our javascript/css if you load those from another domain behind Cloudflare and that domain is included in the challenge with no way to complete the CAPTCHA. There are alos ways to adjust the CAPTCHA challenge for IPs with higher threat scores or JavaScript/cookies disabled

If you are tired of clicking on all these Cloudflare firewall Captcha's, here is your chance to sound off, and make Torn fast, secure and Great Again. Challenges are currently made not just during signin, but for addition of all content (iimages, videos, links),even Torn links.

Actually, do use the Torn image/text captchas, and the Cloudflare firewall challenges, challenge at every step over and over, tiring. You would think that almost after 8 years, they could figure this out and make Torn fast, secure and fun to play, not all these stops built in.

It should be a subscriber perk. Subscribers shouldn't need to complete captcha if they have been otherwise good, or perhaps also include long time players that have thousands of log ins.

Seems like the best way to do it, it does get tedious and they don't work on every device.

I don;t get the cloudfare challenge. What settings do you have set that make it where you have to do that? I have to use the captcha if too much time has passed between trains or crimes.

Cloudflare only gives captchas in fairly extreme situations. Do you have Javascript disabled? Using Tor? Change Ip frequently?

I have never been served a cloudflare captcha yet unless i login with Tor.

In that case, thank god for the Captchas!

Normal Torn players would complain about them getting in the way of doing crimes and such...

Funny responses to the poll, really need to fix these Cloudflare firewall settings, take the time to adjust for long time players. after seven 7 years should have a gold pass laughing, take the time for long term players danke

Anything that impedes your ability to spam the forums with pointless animated gifs can only be a good thing for Torn.

Hi All,

We understand that this frustrating. We are frustrated that we have had to go to these measures to protect Torn, but sadly we do not have choice. We have today made some configuration changes to reduce the probability that you get a captcha, and increase the time that you are allowed onto the site. We hope this helps.
