What could help stem the tsunami of spam in the trade chat?

I figure..

1. Enforcing an automatic block on 2 posts per page. It's ridiculous at present. Even when Staff do get on it, they're usually ignored.

2. Block on new players (let them lurk, but not post until a certain age?) The begging is out of control.
