Staff

A long long time ago when I was much newer to the game staff were completely different, in my opinion, than what they are currently. I was going through old player reports and saw this:

I remember that I was banned by this staff member due to having a trolling ban already and so this one would last longer vs giving me the correct ban which would result in a warning or just 3 days (I forget which). I'm sure this with by bl0ndie, being the ever wonderful staff member that she was.

That aside I wanted to ask the community, have you noticed a big change with the current staff compared to the staff from years ago? My opinion is staff are much better - they follow the "rules" much better than they did while under clansy, I believe ched has done a pretty good job (to my surprise) and the players who enforce rules are much better people than those in the past (looking at you freebird).

What are your opinions?



edit: To those wondering why the reason I was banned was important it was the difference of 1 month being banned vs 3 days but this was back in 2012, over 5 years ago so it isn't a go at the person who issued it lol

I miss Sweeney, but I've had literally 0 interaction with current staff, they seem less present in the forums, but that might just be sweeney being everywhere.

Sweeney was extremely active as staff on the forums, he still is just without his purple text. Before the post reset he had something like 44,000 posts. I think it's hard to be as active as that for most active players let alone staff :p

I do know however he wasn't ever able to do much IRC and such which is why he remained a helper (though I imagine he preferred this)

You already posted this in the 10k Celebrity forum asking if it was a good idea and got no reply from bogie and i, so you made it here in GD instead

Jammed and WarDog737 (think thats the number) were seen (and still are) as the bees knees when I was in NPC by myself and others.

But obviously I have not voted im not as old as you greybeardy ones.

Am i the only one that noticed the IP address and try load it up? Ran a port scanner or the likes?

I'm quite fond of most of the staff both personally and as mods. They do a great job with the restrictions they're given on the crap that's now allowed. Most of them seem to want to be able to do more but it is what it is.

well I didn't had the chance to interact with old staff....

currently I feel that there has been sudden promotion of staff.......

Wardog787 is a great staff few other like dexter kate stretch are worth mentioning .................

when I was restarting I got really rude replies from some of the secretaries or whatever post it was called at that time at that time first there were no replies and then suddenly it was " Ask someone else I am really busy stop disturbing me " and few harsh words that does not suit a staff. then wardog came forward and helped me..........

Recently also I faced such issue and till now I have received no clear reply from torn admins about that issue that whether what that staff did was right or wrong ??

So i stopped the buying of the bulk DP's that I used to buy every month........................

Maybe its just me but I feel the Staff has let things get too easy in forums, they are literally a cesspit full of trolls now..
