Ok since you have more than enough to say, my turn.....

What about a certain member who used the glass door to maximize medical cool downs to get the achievement? not only a member but a staff used that one. The corruption was so bad on that one, Ched had to step in and change the achievement and change the system, every last staff and members KNEW that medical CD's were coming.

Next one, a player had insider knowledge he received from a staff member that DB2.0 was coming and he dumped his DBs quick. That was over a year ago. Yes it was reported. Instead of a banning he got promoted to a committee member, remember that one?

Then we have Beerstein, as a committee member he was begging in global for down votes of a suggestion that already had over 100 votes ups, then after that failed he went running to Ched and told him how NOT to address it, just for the record I am still waiting for Cheds response. Beerstein is a committee member that is supposed to represent the players not to run his own personal agenda of hatred of a player.

Now this week I report another leak, staff response snide comment how my report is incomplete and locks it so I can not even respond. So I bring it to the General discussion that Player reports should be a priority then that gets GYed, because OMG, I choose not to use a browser that I don't want to use. Then I ask how is discussing about lack of bug reports being addressed in General Discussion and I get a staff threatening to ban me for making such a post. But its ok to have 10 BLOODY ELIMINATION posts only to GY a legit posting.

The PP knowledge is yet one more example of not everyone knew about it. We all don't have insider information apparently. Not that I would use it to begin with.

Not everyone hangs around global, that place is toxic and I personally have stopped going there because it makes me want to puke.

I remember when the committee had dongs. Tons of em. They were everywhere.

folks would house feed and train their favourite dongs. They'd do signatures featuring their dongs, and even post threads about the merits of their particular dongs and the failings they percirved in the dongs of others.



Neener's "In Defense Of JJ's Wierd Dong" remains one of the most stirring threads ever posted.



Sadly, Ched got donged out and introduced a dong demising virus that wiped every dong in torn.

Is the above thread reflective of typical discussions player committee members have as a routine?

If so, Ched has lot's of patience.

The main problem i have with the committee is that it is a shining beacon of light to the cheaters ie they will look to get on it so they can get inside info that they can abuse and share with their spotty friends. It only takes 1 to ruin it.

Educating yourself and researching game mechanics should be rewarded with an edge. The Pink Power supremacy plan wasn't even hatched by a staff or committee member, so what exactly is the origins of this post other than a blatant attempt to be nominated for committee as some sort of regulator?


We all know that you're upset because committee members didn't stop what you perceive as an exploit, I see this as an intelligent move and a triumph of coordination usually not seen on the net. All this outrage is about as ridiculous as MoronBrandon claiming that he can best represent the player base as "torn president".

The committee should remain a closed group, networking isn't an cheating, and expecting acquaintances not to band together or to assist each other with progression is asinine. Quit your bitching.

The response should actually be, "Let's take them out first because they managed to get a really strong team." Oh wait.

Cos committee didnt get a chance to abuse it last year.

Here I am thinking, as I have many times, of applying to the committee, only to find out it's by invitation only. Think I may try, though, you never know. :)



PS: After reading more, it is by invitation only, oh well.

It was not insider information but basic observation which anyone could have done. Trying to throw it in as an example of committee abuse etc is only going to weaken your arguments or accusations. Your call.

I'm going to say one last time: I never said committee abused inside knowledge. I haven't accused the committee of anything. I said the committee should be held to higher expectations than to join in a plot that would change the chances of a monthly event that everyone has been looking forward to for months and then gloat about it in the forums.

This is off-topic too. Please stick to what could be done to make the committee better. If my two ideas are shit, do you have any ideas of your own or is the committee just fine as it is?

That's fair, but shouldn't the community also trust who is representing them in their committee? Maybe so, maybe not.



Did you ask the committee how to better this competition prior to reintroducing it this year? If not, why not? If so, why didn't the committee mention the fact that gender specific teams either put someone at a great advantage or disadvantage depending on how it plays out?



This Elimination thing is such a minor and silly thing. I agree that it was probably done more for the lulz than anything else, but if that's the case and committee members participated in it, then they should be questioned as to what they are in the committee for. I think the frustration is that it seems like the committee isn't doing much other than perpetuating the same exploits and antics that have been a crux in this game for a long time. Some people just want to feel like they are getting a fair shake and when things like this happen and happen over and over again through the course of the game, it gets irritating cause they are things that could have been avoided. Hence why the committee is somewhat to blame if they are in the committee to better the gaming experience for everyone rather than get their lollers with their close acquaintances.



Sure, the majority of those that played last year knew how the gender teams worked. Some people were probably hoping that it wouldn't be the same this year due to the fact that it completely took one team out of the game from the start.

If there are openings or if you are looking for more people, I would love to put an application in....

We went over this already regarding information.

However, I'll grant you that. Very well; basic observation allowed for the rigging of a competition. Someone observed it and mentioned it to their faction. All of you agree to it. Excellent, intelligent moves--as absolutely no one has denied. It was a great move. Kudos.

The issue is this: People who were in the committee were aware of this. I previously copied the game's rules regarding exploitation. You have stated that people observed this issue and told about it.

That means people on the player committee knew of an issue and instead of reporting it, as the rules state to do, they instead exploited it. That goes against everything the player committee, which represents us, is supposed to stand for.

If committee members, who are the ones who represent everyone and are to be the example, break the rules, why shouldn't anyone else? It becomes a very slippery slope.

That's why I just want a clear answer from the admin as to if what was done constitutes an exploitation of the system or not.

If it was not, that sets the standard for the future and we all know it from here on out.

If it was, then there's consequences. Again, those are the rules created by the admin. Not by us.

I have considered both sides of it, yes, but my opinion in the matter isn't the one that counts. It's the admin's.

If they say it is not an exploit, then it's not. If they say it is, then it is.

It's probably reasonably safe to assume that Ched doesn't see it as an exploit as he hasn't done anything about it. He might still see it as problematic from some other point of view though, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Keeping silent works well for Ched.

If he says it's fine for a committee member to join in such schemes and cause so much uproar, it sets another awful precedent.

If he says that committee should know better, it's a load of hassle for him.

Truth is, he probably falls in the middle too. I would guess he thinks it was a shitty move from someone he trusts but not worth the hassle in the long run.

So keeping schtum wins.
