have been playing this game almost from the start , alot of years ago...
and until lately i thought i would continue playing this game that i log into daily but it would seem i cant do it anymore with clear conscience.
i had plans on what would i do next , which merits i would i get, benefit from stocks,casino play and something i was looking for more than anything was this year elimination.
sadly my team was eliminated pretty early (pirates) and part of it perhaps because i didnt do enough attacks (but that cant be helped since work sometimes interferes with pleasure)
i was sad but i was ok with it since its anyone's game and every team has equal opportunity to win this competition.
Then i learned that actually its Wasnt equal opportunity , some people cheated their way (or found loophole) to the team they wanted to be in , which made it actually preorgenized competition for them.
and whats worse is that the staff knew about it and didnt stopped it.
this is what broke my game spirit , to know the game i love and competition i was looking for is rigged and they are not only allowed to continue to participate in the competition and to enjoy the benefits of their cheating but also destroy the enjoyment of other players who were excited and waiting for this competition , this is when i realized that this is not fun for me.
to log in to a game that gives you bad feeling and where cheating is allowed , is where i draw the line.
as for Ched statement , i think what he did was too little too late...
IMHO the moment he learned about whats going on he should have restarted the elimination , banned the cheaters or replaced them into other teams or shuffle all teams together or even canceled the whole elimination or many other options.
all these options would have still made it possible for a clean and fun competition , but instead we got half measures and bad reputation.
and im sorry , but i cant wait another year for Maybe it will be clean competition next time, i believe in "Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today".

Regardless , i do want to thank Ched for letting me enjoy this game for so many years , it was fun to log in daily , level up , fighting, doing crimes and what not :)
Big Shout-Out to the faction i was in most of my time in torn (Fun in the Sun) , and good luck to all who just started the game and/or in middle of their journey , may your time in torn will be as enjoyable as it was for me.

Pretty good level target if anyone is looking for one

The fact that you have been playing this game for as long as you have but still don't even have a friend to give your assets to before quitting says a lot. This game lives because of the social aspect more than anything else. You should have made some friends and if you had... you likely would have given the 6b to them rather than the church.



While I don't think the admin reacted in an appropriate manner to the elimination situation and have cancelled my sub because of it, I'm not quitting the game as there are still plenty of good people and the game still has opportunity to fix some issues.

I can relate to what you are saying. I was excited about this comp and the debacle it has turned out to be has certainly had a negative impact on my confidence and attitude towards the game

I did 59 attacks and saw what was happening and said "**** it, no point, its already a known outcome".

Par for the course for Torn. Same for life. You either accept it, become part of the problem, or go your own course.

In the end no point letting it get to you.

I can see where you are coming from and I can also see it from the other side.

An interesting thing is when monkeys feel they have been cheated they too will walk out / away from the game.

It does make me very wary of competitions and the general feeling of the game and its future rigging in general of gameplay from how it was handled but it also makes Torn City the place it is meant to be ie Crime RPG or Westminster whichever way you look at it.

such a shame, all those years wasted by one competition...
