Or just allow scripting to do auto roll/ auto museum exchange
Definitely no, if it's simply built in you can put a simple black on white rule of no scripts affecting stuff like that. If you allow "exceptions" like that you end up with more grey areas again which I'd rather not see.
Because they don't already script? Lol.
I'm against the decision to ban instead of blocking quicker requests in the first place. People using multiple tabs are getting banned because they basically created a honeypot. Banning people playing legitimately is never okay.
Obviously not all of them use scripts, and with the 5 second rule even less will be bothered to wait until the spins are done. This isn't even a first world problem, it's just normal whining.
Wait, previously autoroll was okay as long as you are on the page the entire time. What are the rules now, none at all?
That basically makes slots the worst choice for money or fun.
For a brief time the slots were allowed to be automated, one way

.
Now the following applies
The use of scripts, extensions, applications or any other kind of software is allowed only if it uses data from our API or a page you have loaded manually and are currently viewing. They cannot make additional non-API requests to Torn, scrape pages that you're not currently viewing, or attempt to bypass the captcha. If the software you're using makes non-API requests that are not manually triggered by you, it is not allowed and can be tracked.
Can still do stuff people would find wrong but you are within the rules when doing so.
What I dont want is to spend 15 minutes every day just spinning slots. It's a boring game and because of the click frequency required you can't do anything else while playing it either. Really hope an autospin gets added to the client side.
I had a question regarding that - Would a mouse macro be allowed? Especially for something like say, spinning the roulette wheel.
Not truly an autoclicker, but it definitely seems cheat-y.
Don't do it then? Play as intended or don't play at all.
Boycott slots
Just got this error message too...been doing slots the same damn way for over a year now, whats going on?
Really dumb move to implement this when the majority of the people (myself included) don't want to wait and watch the slots spin for 20 min a day. Multi tabbing was a solution to this but now that's gone. Great job...
If spinning slots 15 minutes each day is too much of a challenge for you then do something else.
You're pointing out exactly the major problem: Impatience which makes people want to take short cuts. Your personal character not matching Torn gamestyle is definitely a personal issue.
I opened 2 tabs and clicked on 10$ buttons in both tabs and I have been banned again.
The result is that I'll stop playing slots or I'll create a chrome extension that clicks on the 10$ button every 10 seconds.
Aurel, do you also check if the interval between clicks is the same amount of time in order to ban players? in this case I'll make the click interval variable between 5-10 in order to prevent my script from being banned.
Torn is a game. It's not a society with rules spanning generations; it wasn't evolved naturally; it wasn't created by some holy being (no matter how awesome Ched might be). Accepting everything as the one true way that should never be contested is an incredibly naive view. The way it's intended to be played is not the universal and everlasting way descended by the gods.
15 minutes of idle clicking is the complete opposite of a challenge. That is the problem. There is absolutely no gameplay in clicking buttons idly. That time could be used in actual gaming: any feature that requires actual thinking, strategy, coordination, socialization or creativity. The issue isn't that it takes too long -- it's that it is too easy. If they were 15 minutes of solving puzzles, no one would be complaining. They could opt not to play it because they dislike the specific puzzle, but no one would argue that we should automate the puzzle solution.
People arguing that Torn requires patience and therefore we should have patience with slots are out of their minds. We've been in this game for years. We've been working on our stats for years. We've been hunting achievements, slowly, for years. Every day of playing Torn is just a matter of incrementing some counters by numbers sometimes as small as 1. To accuse any long-term Torn player of being too impatient and incompatible with Torn's game style is ludicrous.
PS. You don't value your time enough if you're okay about wasting 15 minute chunks for no good reason. I waste way more than that on here, daily. But that doesn't make "it's only a few minutes" a valid excuse for doing nothing instead of something.

Oh, and more importantly: this change only affects legit players. Scripters will simply leave scripts running for hours if necessary. The only ones that will be bothered are people manually clicking the slots with multiple tabs. Hurray?
And just to be clear: while I think it isn't an effective feature, if it's decided the slots should stay the way it is, well, more power to Torn. However, how about blocking faster bets instead of outright banning people? That's a failed honeypot, it's what it is. They could as easily just ignore the extra requests.
And no, I wasn't banned.
'Accepting everything as the one true way that should never be contested is an incredibly naive view.'
Seems to me that you're the one opposing change here, I don't care much either way. Some days I play the slots, some days I don't.
I don't even
"The one true way" is the way it's designed. Single slots, no auto spins, no multiple tabs. That's the intended way to be played*.
I'm pro auto spins, pro enforcing rules in the server instead of hidden rules that are only applied to legit players, against honeypots that ban legitimate users.
If any feature is implemented in a way that someone simply clicking links without any external help can get banned, that's a broken feature in my view. And that's what's currently implemented. Hence, change.
we have multihunter to prevent this so there is nothing to be afraid of
we still want autoroll fn ...
'The one true way' was your own expression, don't put words in my mouth. If you want to argue against something you came up with yourself go right ahead, but don't involve me in it.
if there is no autoroll fn change at least the boring animation so we don't have to wait half minute between clicks majority players have real life jobs and we don't have 16h per day to play torn casino anyway the chance to win is ridiculously small
i also wouldn't mind if TV specials were changed giving tokens for casino which are totally useless .. at least to me .. don't know how other players feel
