The last few weeks i have been racing quite a lot, and i really want to understand how racing works. All guides seems pretty outdated and not much is going on overall except the PRC event. Anyhow, i tried to farm some points with my wonky mustang to get myself the overall A class champion honda NSX. And i finally got it, kinda.
[image: i.gyazo.com]How come the acceleration bar shows that the NSX have a lot more acceleration but the actual stats are stating that my Mustang is doing 0-60 faster anyhow? Can cars have different stats like armor and weapons? Anyone tried to test that out? Help me out how these bars work.
I enjoy racing, even tough it feels pretty random and broken. And i don't travel anyway so got plenty of time to race.
It is pretty random.
But a big thing is picking the right car for the right track which you can see by looking at the global records.
To be honest i havent looked at the stats pages that much i just pick the right upgrades to make my cars run better.
To my knowledge all cars are created equal - there is no unique value for racing for each car - that being said my NSX does A LOT better on hammerhead than it does on two islands - but I still believe they are all equal.
To your question I'd say the NSX has better acceleration than the Mustang, but it may not be faster to 60, it might get to 40 faster but then the mustang can catch up a bit - 0-60 can be a mix of acceleration and top speed (torque + horsepower for IRL)
To dive deeper, these numbers are as meaningful to me as the performance stock triggers, they dont mean too much, and it gets pretty obvious which cars do well on which tracks regardless of what the numbers say they should.
Too late now, but for point whoring its good to max Cosworth as your B car since it does really well in early A and you can easily accumulate the points to max another A car by the time it starts falling back.
"But a big thing is picking the right car for the right track which you can see by looking at the global records."
Seems pretty much like it, but i find it strange that the NSX holding records on 9 different tracks. We got like 10-12 cars to choose from and the NSX seems way to op. For example, if i wanted to build a Nissan GT-R it would be pointless unless i want a mediocre car just for fun. I want that car, just becuse nobody else uses it (for good reasons). Same goes with dirtcars, the cosworth is gay as hell and i don't wanna use it. But unless i wanna lose every mudpit race i enter i must use the stupid cosworth.

I assume you are using a dirthonda for hammerhead? Does anyone even use rally tires?

I assume you are correct aswell, since everyone uses the same cars more or less. NSX + Lexus and you are pretty much set it seems, with a few exceptions.
Yup rally tires for me (tyres lol)
and yea completely agree, GT-R is perfect example too, so many tracks but most are dominated by the same car
that being said before the multiple cars update I had my nsx for dirt and used ford for short tarmac which still holds most of my records and has squeaked in to global records. Lexus is dominant but Mercedes wins convict and Austin sneaks in as well.
Godar has proved almost any car can do well on stone park as he at one point held 5 records with 5 different cars.
But all of this is pretty much saying there is the possibility of different cars sometimes doing well, but for the majority and the reliability, there only a few cars to choose from.
Racing overall is pretty broken.
The stat bar indicators are useless. Dont bother trying to learn anything from those ..
NSX is pretty much king everywhere, if not for the Lexus and Ford on some tracks.
In those stats you show in the first post, your mustang has lots of upgrades (218 points spent) and the NSX, only 159. I'm not sure I understand your question, but it sounds like your'e comparing base stats for the two cars, and then looking at the stuff saying the Mustang has slightly higher acceleration and asking why. And the reason is probably more upgrades on the Mustang.
NSX is borderline broken. Only thing that makes it not is the fact that EVERYONE has and uses one so you're only at a disadvantage if you choose not to use one whenever appropriate. As pointed out, it holds top 5 lap records on nearly every track. Hell, the Gallardo has two spots in Uptown and the GTR and 458 don't have a single showing.
I think that the gaps between strengths and weaknesses needs to be widened. I mean, more than once, I watched my acceleration tuned GTR, which is already strong in acceleration, get outrun by an NSX, which is weak in acceleration. I've also watched my top speed-tuned LFA get smoked on a long stretch by an NSX, which is weak in top speed. I've even seen Aston Martins and SLRs fly through corners while my NSX just lumbers through.I understand that there has to be a randomness factor to give new racers a chance but as it is now, strengths and weaknesses seems to mean nothing.
