You might want to consult a map before trying to drive from Alaska to Ontario...
In all fairness he's half right in his thinking. While I was referring to Doug Ford and Ontario with respect to retail outlets, BC, and the Yukon will be legal in a few short months for recreational.
In BC you will be able to buy cannabis in both public and private retail locations. Legal age will be 19.
In the Yukon, one public outlet to start and of course online as with most other provinces and territories.
You are also allowed to grow 4 plants for recreational, except in Quebec.
well i live close to whitehorse
Cross border would be federal law at play and the US will crucify you for smuggling weed across the border there.
...they cover you in honey and fire you into the bush where ravenous black flies and horney bears have their way with you. Its on TripAdvisor

Hey!! A fellow Alaskan. if you know people you can get $230-250 oz in the banks
Smoking weed does not make you cool, it makes you boring. Nothing is as dull as stoner stories... []

Sorry you have met only limited folk who smoke pot.
Here in Oregon there is a huge range from shops. Just saw an add in the weekly for 28 bucks for an Oz of indoor. General price is 120/Oz. You can get half gram oil carts for 10 to 20 bucks.
Booze producers are likely realizing perhaps a bit late, they best start growing.
Once it's legal in states with major booze production facilities I'm sure they will alongside tobacco growers. There is so many farms here that we have an over abundance of pot.
Sadly Canada is mainly going with only government licensed grows, and government controlled retail. Of course it depends on which province or territory.
Most of the current legal entities are owned by folks like the former Ontario Provincial Police commissioner, J. Fantino, or the Chief Financial Officer of the Liberal Party of Canada who forms our current majority government federally.
Rigged game.
I come from the place that grows the world's best hash. Malana cream. Pretty much free for me
