Why?

So I been trying to friends play torn.and while I love this game I can't seem to convince them to play. Once they hear text based they have no interest. So i was wondering what everyones favorite thing about torn was.

why would you do this to your friends?

You're doing it wrong. Tell them the forums have no rules and they can trash talk people for fun.

So a week ago 

The question was "what's your favorite thing about torn?" How can I ask that "better"?

Let me rephrase my answer:

Being able to trash talk you on the forums and bribe people for referrals.

I tried getting people to play but it hasn't happened yet.  Not everyone wants an action game. This game is more logic and strategy.  And I love it. 

If i had friends i bet they would play. Haha

it is never ending game, that is mine favorite thing in this game

Ched, never abandon this game and 'end' it like some facebook games do.  It is great.

Not everyone is going to be interested in a text based game, there's nothing inherently wrong with that, but it would be a shame if they wouldn't at least give it a try. There's nothing really anything else quite like Torn out there.

I like how much depth there is to the game. it seems like there's always something that you didn't know before, and with so many things in the game, there's always something to work towards. Even players with 10 year old accounts still have something they want to work towards. There's no shortage of goals you can set for yourself to keep you interested in logging in every single day.

When I first heard from this "Text Based Game" I refused to play it. I was just not interested and Text based sounded boring af. 
My friend kept asking and asking and I agreed to make this account, so he would stop spamming me with this "shit". 
I was inactive for a month and annoyed and forgot about it tbh. 
After some weeks, I noticed my friend was playing torn on a regular basis when we met, mostly by ignoring me.
I was curious which game is replacing me and began playing.

It was fun playing together, helping us out, that's the reason I have been online more often. I am pretty sure I would have lost interest soon, if this friend wasn't on my side. 

Just try to show them how fun this game can be, especially with you as friend :)

Lacking that, tell them it's a really fun game per se, even the missions and stuff are pretty funny for a while, but they'll probably stay for the people.



Also, force them to make an account while you're present, if they're interested, they'll probably play again later on^^
