I'm a small trader in Torn trying to earn some money or personal hobby. I've encountered a player who bought all my items and then mugged me in just 5 seconds. I spent almost a week to collect all my items to trade but all he need was just 5 seconds to take all my profits away. 1 week of effort gone wasted in 5 seconds. I begged him to return half of the money to me but all he said was "this is a game about crime" Any of you felt this heartache before?
Could any one please advice me on how to avoid that?
Make friends with a high level player who's harder to mug to sell items for you.

Sell smaller quantities of items at once. Instead of putting up 10 Feathery hotel coupons put up only 1 or 2 at a time. If you sell points instead of selling 5000 points at once sell 10x 500 points. Just make it difficult for them to put a lot of money on your hand at once. Also just keep your bazaar open while you're online.
There's also an extension called doctorn that notifies with sound when you sell items while you're on chrome.
Don't listen to KarmaCop that's how you get scammed
I would recommend closing your bazar when you go afk. Turn revives off while it's open and hosp or travel. Don't list items in the market. Don't get caught slacking. And no, before any of you ask, I did not mug him.

go to the item market and buy a box of tissues
I find it far better to trade directly with well known, respected traders. You might make a bit less up front, but they won't mug you either. Check the trade forum and find threads with lots of upvotes and recommendations from a large amount of people.
best way to learn is to sometimes get hit hard, so you can learn and adjust to not allow it to happen again
I have but I moved on as ita only a game and I could always earn them back even if it takes time.
Tell all your trader friends to put your buy/mugger on their ban list.
