This suggestion was inspired by a recent discussion on the thread bellow:

How awesome would it be if we had an automatic system that recorded and displayed publicly faction chain records?

My idea would to have this on a new tab, in everyone's faction:

In that tab, the records would be displayed a bit like the racing records:

1 - you can see your own top 5 records, in respect and speed, for each chain

2 - you can see the global top 5 records

3 - same as in racing, the global records are limited to 1 per faction

4 - records would be displayed with the faction name in a clickable link

5 - records would show a date stamp, of the day the chain ended

6 - personal faction records would have the link to the war report

7 - global records would not provide link to the war report, since it's unecessary and half private

...and that's pretty much it! Would be pretty cool to see the top 5 records, in both speed and respect for each chain, and naturally it would be fun for the record beating factions to have a way to show it off publicly. Only issue I'm seeing is that if respect per hit is nerfed again, it might be hard to beat respect records, but it looks like the system has been balanced out already.

Yes, that would indeed be a useful statistic to view. The competition for the leader boards will drive game activity as well.

Most excellent Idea Destroys...the only thing I think that could make it better is a faction merit when a faction gets the top spot...But then I am merit hungry as hell and out there where they are hardest to come by.

Edit: 

This idea has so many upsides for the game...I can see this as a great revenue generator for the game as well. This idea has so much potential on a lot of different levels.

It would be fairly easy to add a 'Chain records' section. All chains are recorded.

However, taking up an entire tab on the factions page - just for that - isn't the right way to go I feel.

'Best chain' is already displayed on the faction info page. It'd be possible to have a tooltip appear showing the faction's top 5 chains (with dates) I suppose. But I'm not sure currently where a global chain records page would be located, no place feels right currently.

To be honest...I don't think anyone really cares where it is, as long as it is somewhere.

If you want my personal opinion, I would add it in the RANKS page as a separate tab or something. Similar to statistics in the casino.

First of all, thanks for replying to the thread. Secondly, I think a new section would work better, either in faction page (since it's a faction ranking, same as the old war ranking system was), or in a new place in city hall where these records can be properly displayed.

In any case, I really think this is something a lot of people want, and finding a place that feels nice should be secondary to implementing it in a proper way, which as stated doesn't seem to be a problem.
