drug crimes

Currently I have 35 NNB, federal judge, psych degree and 7 crime merits. Trying to decide if it's worth chasing the drug crime merits as I've read here they tank your nerve bar. Thoughts?

If you're going to do it, do it now.

I'm on a 30 NNB, no passives (besides advanced driving tactics) or merits, and I'm having pretty good success - done about 2000 so far and no sign of dropping. I'd say do them now if you're considering it at all.

I started on a brand new 35 NNB, and due to bad runs of jailing I've bounced between 35 and 30 a fair few times.  As per what anis said above now is the time to do them in the current crimes system.  You just need to be mindful that crimes 2.0 coming soon TM might change that advice 

As Charnock says, if you're going to do it, now is the best time. WalkingTarget has a point too though. When Crimes 2.0 comes everything will change. This may affect how drug crimes are done. Personally, I skipped drug crimes and am waiting for Crimes 2.0. Hopefully they will do away with the percentage CE loss on a jailing. 

Ive been doing them for the last few months and havent dropped out of 35 NNB.  I have 10/10 merits, both perks, the enhancer, and faction criminality tree maxed.  It is a pain in the ass because you do get jailed regularly.  I would guess about 2% jails and 85% greens on the transport cocaine job.

It will set your CE progress back by roughly a year. Probably not worth it but it's up to you obviously.

Just wait for Crime 2.0

There were Two schools of thought when I did 10k drugs.

Nerve bar is immaterial in my opinion, it shouldn't be part of your calculation. Yes, 35 is the ideal stage, but don't base your decision solely off of that.

Either you smash them out before crimes 2.0, get them done, and then start doing arson and building up a 60 nnb with peace of mind that you'll never have to go back and tank your nerve bar, All CE gains you make after 10k drugs will always be there, providing you're sensible obviously.

Or you hope that crimes 2.0 changes mechanics in such a way that there is no penalty from jailing, apart from jail time, leave drug crimes and keep doing arsons or chasing merits or whatever, however doing so with the possibility that if crimes 2.0 doesn't change the mechanics, all that CE will be lost if you have to go back and do them later.

Also take into consideration with Crimes 2.0 just around the corner, #soon. Would you want to be stuck on a low nerve bar when it gets released.

So, you either finish them now, then rebuild CE forever, no worries, might be on a 35 nnb when crimes 2.0 release

or, build CE now, hope and pray crimes 2.0 changes jailing mechanics, then do drug crimes, if the mechanics don't get changed, well I guess your nerve bar is getting tanked anyway, only you just wasted the last year building CE, will have a better nerve bar for crimes 2.0 release.

I chose to do drug crimes, and then build CE, didn't regret the decision. However you're much closer to release than I was, at this stage I would suggest against doing drug crimes. Focus on just doing arsons and building CE

I'm sorry, off track on the topic for a while. I remember seeing a post that searching for cash- nerve 2 a certain amount can get a merit or something. can someone correct me if I'm wrong?

I actually started on drug crimes after reading this post. thanks for the advice!! I'm on 30NNB too

We have about the same setup... Im almost at 1k drug crimes. The fail rate isn't TOO bad. I only Fail about once out of every 10 times, and blue/green outcomes seem to be about even.

Its going to take some time to hit 5k, but your better off doing it now while it takes less crime exp total to increase NNB.... if u get knocked down to 30 or even 25, it wouldn't be as bad (or take as long to get back to the start point) as getting knocked down to 55 or 50 from 60nnb.

I start doing mine when they announced about crimes 2.0, but somehow I manage finish all 10k few month before and Crimes 2.0 is still on "coming soon" stage :D

Yeah I got warned against doing them because crimes 2.0 was coming soon, and that was over two years ago

Either do them now, or wait for 2.0. I will tell you what I foolishly did. I had a strong 55 nnb and about 2k drug crimes when I decided to go for broke. The result? Nnb dropped to 40 and has barely gone up to 45 after I got the 10k drugs. Arsons are already done, so I'm doing a combo of other safe crimes.
