There's no denying the fact that the recent addition of special holiday events has made the game more entertaining. Though not confirmed yet, many would wish that these events will be an annual thing and not a one-off. As such, it would be good idea to prepare in advance for such occasions so that you're able to reap the maximum gains from them.
With that said, this guide lists in chronological order, all special holidays we've had since the start of the year. Included are the dates, associated perks and how you can prepare in advance so as to get the most out of them. Do note that entry styled events are not included but rather only the ones in which all players by default get to benefit from. The list will be updated accordingly as the year progresses.
14th FEBRUARY - VALENTINE'S DAY
Perks
- Chance of finding the Love Juice drug in the city
- Ability to use Love Juice
- Love Juice – Reduces cost of attacking to 10E, gives a +50% Speed boost and a 25% dexterity boost. It has a cool down of approximately 300 minutes
- 10 E per attack is a good incentive to go for a chain, so stack enough energy should your faction choose to chain on Valentine ’s Day. It’s also a good incentive to go for your attack merits while at the same time gaining more experience to level up. So whether chaining or not stacking enough energy before the material day will still be beneficial.
- Purchase enough Love Juice potions before Valentine’s day to last you the whole day should you choose to take advantage of the low attacking energy cost
- In order to stand a chance to find love juice in the city, you must have logged in at least once in the past seven days before Valentine’s day
- It is not a given that players will find Love Juice in the city. The only perk may be the ability to use Love Juice
- A section of players believe that Love Juice may also be able to work after high activity events such as Elimination but this is yet to be confirmed
Perk – Company Director trains are three times as effective (gain three times the work stats you normally gain when trained by the director
Preparation
- Ensure your director has trains available for you on the material day and if your company uses rotational trains, negotiate with your workmates on the best possible arrangement that will enable everyone to benefit
- If joining a new company, ensure you do so at least three four days before 2nd March since your Director will only be able to train employees who are at least three days old in the company
- If you have the financial ability and the opportunity, organise with your director beforehand to buy as much trains as possible for the 2nd of March
17th MARCH – ST. PATRICK’S DAY
Perk – All alcoholic drinks in Torn City have double the effects (twice the nerve you normally get from them)
Preparation
- Stock up on enough alcoholic drinks for St. Patrick’s Day. It’s advisable to do so in good time as there’s always a possibility of the prices shooting up in anticipation of the material day
- If you’re financially capable, stock up on alcoholic drinks that give the most nerve for a small booster cool down. This ensures that you get the most out of the perk.
- Ensure that your booster cool down is at zero at the start of the material day (Midnight)
- If possible, have your faction leaders allocate more respect to voracity to increase your maximum booster cool down. Alternatively, and more practically, join a faction that already has respect invested in voracity to take full advantage of St. Patrick’s Day
- Clarification is needed on whether the booster cool down of alcoholic drinks is halved with this perk
- Should your faction choose to allocate more respect to voracity to allow for a higher maximum booster cool down, the same should be done in good time since the new respect changes take a few days to take actualize
Perk – Torn’s Cannabis item will be three times as potent and five times more likely to make you overdose
Preparation
- Stock up a few Cannabis items for the material day
- Ensure your drug cool down is at zero at the start of 20th April to enable you use the maximum amount of cannabis for the day
- If you’re going for the Cannabis overdose merit, you can have your faction remove respect from lowered chances of overdose or join a faction that doesn’t have respect allocated to this branch
- Cannabis helps improve your crime success rate so stocking up on alcoholic drinks and ensuring you’re at zero booster cool down will help you take advantage of the increased potency of the drug
Perk – Torn’s museum pays out 10% more points on items (Get 11 points on flipping a flower set or plushies set)
Preparation
- Complete the History Bachelor Education course if you haven’t already. This gives you access to the museum
- Stock up on enough museum tradable items such as flowers, plushies and artefacts. Depending on your financial status, you can do this by either flying or purchasing them from the item market or other traders.
- Should you choose to stock up on these items by purchasing them within Torn, try and get the best deals possible so as to increase your profit margin when you flip them for points.
- Remember to start stocking up early enough on flowers and plushies if you’re not a frequent flier as there’s a high chance of prices shooting up just before the material day
Perks
- Endure 50% less medical cool down when drawing blood
- Lose 50% less life than you ordinarily when drawing blood
- Finish the Intravenous Transfusion Biology course if you haven’t already. This grants you the ability to draw blood
- Ensure your medical cool down is at zero at the start of the day
- Stock up on enough empty blood bags for the day. These can be purchased in the item market
- If you’re able to temporarily join a faction that has respect invested in increased medical cool down, do so as this will also increase the amount of blood bags you are able to fill during the day
11th JULY – WORLD POPULATION DAY
Perk – Gain three times the experience when you attack and leave an opponent
Preparation
- This is a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone if your faction chooses to do some chaining – Gain some respect while tripling the experience you get from each successful attack
- Stack up on enough energy starting a day and a half prior to 11th July
29th JULY – INTERNATIONAL TIGER DAY
Perks
- Tigers available as a hunting option when you visit South Africa with a $20,000 reward for each one taken down
- A 5x hunting xp boost is in effect for the duration of the day
- Stack enough energy for hunting on the material day.
- Fly to South Africa a few hours before the start of the day
- I am unsure whether it will be more efficient to be flying back and forth to Torn to take xanax and fly back or just camp in South Africa and use your naturally regenerated energy once you deplete your stacked E. I leave it to someone good at Math to make that determination.
- There are merits associated with hunting so if you’re wondering why you should bother with this, that’s one reason
Perk – All beer items are five times as effective for the duration of the day
Preparation
- Ensure you have enough beer to last you a day (25-40 depending on your faction perks)
- Ensure your booster cool down is at zero at the start of the day
